Yes but we don't live in FM world so unless the finances are in our favour it wont happen

Sounds like it. Maybe they think there is a greater ceiling with Depay. He's certainly more raw, and possibly cheaper at the moment.

He is not an out and out winger. He would be ideal in Poch's set up.

Hasn't JJ been saying that it is a LB, CB, CM we are after?

I thought it was said that the only forward player that we were interested in was Jay from Southampton and that Poch was more than willing to wait till January for him.

I think attractive attacking players are a far easier sell/click bait for websites so we are likely to see a lot of them.

Sounds like it. Maybe they think there is a greater ceiling with Depay. He's certainly more raw, and possibly cheaper at the moment.

Maybe he is saying that the characteristic playing attributes of Depay are what our scouting system have been told to look out for above those of Griezmann?

So in the perfect world where we could get anyone we wanted (FM), we would go for Depay.

So instead of it being a link or a line of interest we are taking, it is simply an indicator in the direction the club want to go.

It could possibly even be an indicator of how they may try and develop a few of our existing players.

With all the genuine respect in the world for JJ, he also didn't believe we were in for Davies so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he has just not been privy to any info about Griezmann.

The thing is, the story is gathering a lot of pace in the media and whilst it probably won't amount to anything, I'm personally not gonna rule it out just yet......mainly cos I don't want to, ha!

That's in reply to me and that's how I took it but also took it as we are after neither

There has been a lot of ITK lately saying Poch wants Rodriguez for the left hand side so given he has worked with him it is far more likely than some foreign flavour of the month

Most likely IMHO we will make do with what we have and go for Rodriguez in Jan when he has proved his fitness

IMO the only thing holding up the Davies announcement is the other two players. Vorm & Sig. Swap deals rarely come off so a triple deal is thwart with difficulties.
