The thing is in the summer we will need to buy replacements for: Pav, Saha, Corluka, Bassong, Friedel, Cudicini, Gomes, Gallas, King and Ade. Will be a FUN summer!!!!:)

Pav/Saha is the same place in the squad
Corluka -> naughton
Gallas has a contract
Bassong -> Caulker
Don't think we will lose every keeper.

Bring in Krul, Hazard, Damiao, Samba, Hoilett :grin:

No, let's wait what JJ is bringing us ;)

??

did he recommend nelsen to harry? was he high again?

Rio said Saha was the best striker he'd come up against

I can only guess it was back in the days when he was at West Ham

Still, I'll trust in Arry, he's proven the doubters wrong time and time again

Harry clearly wants experienced prem players to come in as back up should the be needed. If Saha scores to win us a game when Adebayor is injured or Nelsen comes in when Dawson, King and Kaboul are out and does a job we will eat our words.

There is no need to pay way over the odds on players during the season. Our squad is good enough, if you ask me Nelsen and Saha as back up are improvements on Pav and Bassong who just didn't want to be there.

They are playing for contracts at a big club, they might up their game you never know

I find it bizarre that we've let Bassong go on loan - we absolutely must have Nelson locked up.

I don't get it. I'd assumed we were getting Nelsen in purely because we'd received a cash offer for Bassong that was hard to refuse. A loan makes no sense to me. Nelsen is not an improvement.

Right i'm gonna go against the grain here.

Nelsen could be a good bit of business, with Bassong getting regular games it could work well for us when he returns in the summer. Also with King and Gallas' injury problems we really could do with someone with an experienced head, and Nelsen has got that in abundance, i think he will bring more stability to the backline than Bassong ever has, and of course Friedel will know him very well.

Very strange window, will only make sense if it is a clear the decks to buy quality and youth in the summer. It's been 4 windows since we qualified for CL and in that time the only players we've signed where that has possibly been a factor are VdV and Ade on loan.

Let's hope JJ is right and we have the likes of Hazard lined up for the summer. Somehow I doubt it though. We are now very reminiscent of the goons, new stadium cramps transfer spending.

Bear in mind also that this reaction was the one that met both the signings of Parker and more-so Brad, and the end of the summer window.

And we're third.

Almost second.

Almost first.

And they've been our best players.

So there.

Think Pienaar was dependant on Krasic coming in, then with VDV and Lennon injured Arry said now unlikely.
