I know he should have scored against Everton but I don't think confidence is the issue. You can have all the confidence in the world but if we can't supply him the ball in the right areas it can be a bit redundant.

Early doors yet. He's got to expect to see chances at a premium now that he's a name, which means he has to refine his finishing more. The goal tonight showed a huge amount of composure, exactly what he needs to refine his finishing.

The boy's a very quick study, I really can't see him getting anything else but better.

Wasn't really saying that his confidence is shot, figure of speech so to say.

So remember when everyone was up in arms about Shelvey when he was linked with Spurs, you can see why he was identified.

I would have been quite happy with him to be honest.

He was pretty decent when given a chance at Liverpool and yet they stupidly didn't persist with him in midfield, I found that very bizarre at the time.

Got to admit, I was a bit meh about the link, but he's really impressed me over the tag end of last season and the start of this. He has a real eye for a pass, and he gets about. Monk has done wonders for him.

Right now, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I know it was only San Marino, but he did enough there to warrant another go against better opposition. He does it week in, week out with Swansea under pressure, no reason he can't do that for England, especially if it keeps that **** Wilshere out of the team.

Lol Wiltshere is never fit so don't really have to worry about him polluting the England shirt too often ;-)

Now we just need Kane to oust Rooney lol and that's one less **** in the team (y)

Yeah shelvey looks class. How long is it since england had a central mid that could pass forwards like that constantly. He obviously was a bit of a nutter earlier in his career (remember when he lost his shit at fergie lol) but he has matured.

I don't know why he wasn't called up to the U21's and thought Southgate was an idiot for not taking him.

He has potential but my only issue is that he isn't a natural DM even though he done well in that role

I listened to an interview with him on 5 Live the other day. He was talking about how Monk had sat down with him and given him some advice to improve his game, particularly on his diet. Shelvey took it to heart and cut out the treats and was in the process of getting a Chef.

He sounded pretty grounded, maybe because he now has a littl'un.

Like I said earlier, Gary Monk has done wonders with him, I'm really impressed by Monk, quality manager it seems.

Funny that Rooney and Hodgson agreed to take Rooney off against San Marino so that he doesn't break the record against lowly San Marino and instead breaks it against better opposition.

Imagine if Rooney snapped his leg in training and never played for England again. Gutted bruv.

Monk seems to be the actual manager that sherwood sold himself as.

If Shelvey continues this form, he should be easily rated around 25m by Swansea.
The number of through balls he creates should be up there in top3 in the league right now

Rooney seems to hold far too much say for England and Man U, which is surprising given he's a thick thug.

And we laughed at the prospect of signing him not so long ago

Happy for Harry and I changed my mind about Shelvy. Good performance.

Stones looking promising.

I'm going to join in with all the Shelvey man-love here. It's refreshing to see an English midfielder look so comfortable and confident on the ball and have not only the vision and ability, but the trust in his own ability to make those constant forward threaded through-balls into tight spaces and find an England shirt every time, not to mention the defensive awareness and composure. He looks the complete midfielder and if he keeps that level of performance up, it'll only be a matter of time before the likes of Citeh/United/Chelsea/Goons will be giving Swansea a huge fee for him.
