It's like trading stocks. Always take profit. If he does well sure we could lose out on a huge chunk of change, but if he is a busted flush, we're stuck with a player on huge wages who's worth jack shit.

From what I understand Amrabat was at the stage where we could just pull the trigger. His people believe now he was always the back up option just because we got to that stage and then held back. I'm unsure how this sits now with Bentancur incoming.

Makes perfect sense, nobody wants to feel like 2nd choice. My hope on it would be that Romano was always reporting we would go for him if we got Tanguy/Lo Celso out the door first. Hopefully Amrabat was told the same and is cool with it!

That isn’t exactly how it works though is it. Just because they play higher up the pitch doesn’t mean they’re strikers. Otherwise Matt Doherty at LWB would’ve worked

Well tbh how many times has Son covered for Kane and done a superb job? Only difference now is Kulu can also cover Harry so Conte now has options, even Stevie B has been touted as a striker by Conte and of course we still have Scarlett who although very young is very highly rated, i know many will disagree but i dont see the urgency for a striker this month, we have gone years without that back up striker so a few more months wont hurt and we will have far more options.

Won’t clog this up as someone has previously said, will make this the last thing. Yes you’re right, however it would be nice to have someone who could step in for Kane and challenge him at any point rather than waiting for him to get injured then shoving a make shift striker there. It’s not always about cover, it’s about options
