If Mourinho don't succeed we'll remain losers forever. He's here to change our DNA, he's not our end product, but a necessary step on the path towards it.

Which players do you think need to be cleared out? I see us needing to replace a few stagnating / ageing palyers with quality signings, but not a big clear out, to build a very competitive squad.
Lloris
Hart
Aurier
Doherty
Dire
Winks
Sissoko
Lamela
Moura

all average to poor churn any 6/9

I think we’ll stick with Jose until summer of 22. Then we’re probably looking at a big overhaul. Even if Kane’s still here we may have to use him in a different way.

I feel like when Kane goes it will be another Football Manager summer like when we sold Bale, with massive player turnover to make use of the funds.

Could be a short term nightmare but benefit the club in the long term.

I'd just like some consistency in styles of play between successive managers and youth set up so that we don't throw the baby out with the bathwater everytime we change manager. And Jose's style is really not the style I want implemented. Entertain me or lose me.

To be honest I’m optimistic about our future.
We have some promising youngsters that will be ready hopefully for next season in Sessegnon, Skipp with added Tanganga and Rodon, with others like Clarke, White and Cirkin that probably another season away. Then you have Parrott, Devine and Scarlett too.

I genuinely think winning something this season whether it is just the Carabao Cup, can shift this squads mentality massively, and having the right manager to then build on that next season, which Mourinho has done at all the clubs he has previously managed.

The summer transfer window is huge for me, as I think we are only 4 players shy in realistically competing and having that right balance of defensive solidity and explosiveness in attack. A Reguilon equivalent at right back, our own VDK equivalent at centre back, a DM and a right winger. Unfortunately this means selling before buying and that’s always been our problem.
The likes of Lamela, Aurier, Dele, Lucas, Davies, Sanchez, who I think it’s time to move them on, will be difficult to offload. Certainly for what Levy will want and try and get from them aswell and in global pandemic.

I think winning the carabao cup and bombing in the league playing turgid football will have an adverse effect on the mentality of the squad

The players don’t watch the game, so how do we know they think the football is turgid. Winning is what counts for players, and there’s nothing to suggest that being 6 points off 4th with 2 games in hand is anything but bombing out of the league

Main players who need to leave:
Aurier, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez, Toby, Sissoko, Moura, Lamela, Vincius, Gedson, Gazzaniga, Winks

Also Question marks about Dele, Bale, Loris, GLC

It'll be interesting to see how big transfer fees get (or not) over the next 2 years. Are the days of £200m transfers a thing of the past?

The second question is how many fans would accept selling Kane, if it allowed us to bring in 4 or 5 genuinely talented players?

It's a tricky juggling act to keep the squad ticking over, especially since we don't have the transfer budgets of City or Chelsea, etc.

Jose has a lot to answer but we won't get anywhere with our player recruitment strategy since Poch came in. When we lose a player we just always seem to replace them with an inferior player. The chairman and head of recruitment seem to think that it is hard to improve the squad, when you look at the players out on field today who wouldn't even get into a mid table team.

1 game in hand. Only Chelsea, man city, and west ham in 3 of our next 4 pl games. So I'm sure we'll be making our move on the top four soon.

I'm pretty sure the players notice when you have 2 wins in 9 league games and could only manage 1 shot in 45 mins against a Brighton side that hasn't won at home in 7 months.

We are at a level of turgid that can be seen clearly no matter where you are in the planet, let alone on the pitch.

It feels like the team has been in slow decay since the season when we finished 2nd to Chelsea.

Not sure how it can be rectified

We missed our shot at the big time due to lack of investment. Yes it was still only a shot, but it's been and gone now.

As we can see, neither Mourinho nor many of the players will be able to take us there and in fact we are going backwards fast.

It seems like our scouting infrastructure has been a joke for a number of years now - surely we need to get back to that?

I think although the pandemic has proven to be a disaster financially for us with such an expensive stadium unable to be used, it might end up fortunate for the powers that be in a way.

Fans will be so relieved to be able to live a normal life after Covid that it will ensure attendances are high...... at least until the novelty wears off and we start seeing ST sales and attendances dwindle while we slide back into mid table.

We had our chance but we missed it due to timely lack of investments. Then COVID happened. I don't see a way back to the top any time soon; especially under current ownership.

Never going to happen but...Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber at Norwich. Both fit in with our structure. Norwich play the best football in the championship and better than anything leeds ever played. Very astute in the transfer market. Integrate young players.

If you gave them better players and a bigger budget, they would succeed here.

I know it wont happen. They havent had prolonged success or status. They arent big enough names.

But Levy should be looking for something similar. A DOF with a plan, a strategy amd coach who can work with him. Give them full responsibility.

I’m not entirely sure how you can blame Levy currently.

It may not look good now but hiring Mourinho after so many near misses with Poch was sensible; it made sense. Mourinho would take that squad that Poch built and break our trophy duck. That’s what we all hoped.

Levy then backed Mourinho more than any of us could have expected in the summer transfer window. Regardless of how successful the players we bought have been, Levy did fantastic business in a pandemic hit transfer window.

None of this is on Levy.
