Apparently he said Ledley could be "out for a while" with this latest injury.

We're down to the barebones at CB now. Just Kaboul and Bassong fit?

Im trying not to panic at the thought of Charlie or Hudd filling in at CB...
Fuck it...:eek:mg::eek:mg::eek:mg:

The "good" thing is that Charlie and Hudd are injured as well. So even our emergency backup options are fucked!

Not sure what we'll do if the worst comes to the worst to be honest.... maybe we'll chuck Pav back there?

I thought Bassong played well today and Kaboul was excellent both with and without Ledley. King didn't have a great performance by his standards, yet when he went off there was still something different. I am not sure we would have defended so deep with Ledley on the pitch and that wouldn't have invited the pressure that came at us. The two goals we conceded certainly weren't down to our central defenders though.

Spot on .

The goals we conceded appeared to be down to individual cases of poor defending but I think our main problem was playing too deep for much of the match .

Ledley going off was a blow, but i agree with those who said we lost the midfield.
We aren't playing that great atm,but teams fear us and that is getting us through, we are a good side, but need to start showing it more, i do think that we are the best of the rest after chelsea and the 2 manc clubs, i just wish we would start dominating teams like newcastle more, they got more and more confident as they realised we were just fannying about, lets go for the fucking jagular,we have the players to wipe the floor with the likes of newcastle.

The OP is stating the obvious :grin:

Yep, agree with this. Bassong was fantastic in his first season for us. He had a few bad games last season, but not enough for him to be written off altogether.

I'm more worried about the lack of cover with King, Dawson and Gallas all out injured. The Europa League is going to be a real strain.

I felt that, in his first season, Bassong had a dangerous habit of dwelling on the ball too often, especially in areas, like the penalty box, where that just ain't the thing to do...and got caught/lost possession on occasions.

Latest ITK from POTL refutes your conclusions :wink:

King is vital to us, but Parker being off form and Modric not being in the centre dictating our player were equally if not more important to our failure to win yesterday than King going off was if you ask me.

King was the reason we didnt win. We as a team was much more comfortable when he was on

Yep. It's no coincidence that we didn't or never looked like conceding while he was on the pitch. Watching him hobble off breaks my heart :cry:
