Summer wish list :

We have to overhaul our home grown contingent given number of them have not been performing well or not been used.
Assuming we get CL....

HG Outs :
Sessegnon - Not improving. Got be loaned or sold - 15m
Rodon - No point in keeping him, if we are not going to play him - 12m
Doherty - have to move him - 8m
Tanganga - sell him if there is a offer - 10m+

Non-HG Outs:

Lo Celso, Ndombele - move them on again
Lucas Moura - 15m
Bergwijn - Sell him, if he has not improved much in next 5 months - 20m

HG Ins

2nd GK - Sam Johnstone
- WBA 1st choice keeper. Free Transfer

3rd GK - David Button
- WBA 2nd choice keeper...Free Transfer - Spurs boy

LWB - Jack Harrison - Absolute work horse for Leeds. Technically very good. Plays Left wingback/midfield - has pace & end product. Good finisher which Reguillon isnt. May cost 25m. Try to swap or loan Sessegnon as part of the deal.

ST - Ben Brereton DIaz - He is only 22, a late bloomer in how football career goes. Great fairy tale story. He can play anywhere across front line and been on fire not just in championship but already scored 4 international goals for Chile. He is already household name in Chile. Last year on contract. He is a punt worth taking for 20m for 2nd striker role. This is the profile we should look for - young hungry striker who can play as well as score at will

Non HG Ins

LCB - Gvardiol (45m) - Croatian Left side CB/Left back. Top class prospect

RWB - Riddle Baku (30m) - German International and one of the best right wingbacks

Dybala - Just get him over the line. Free transfer

Carrasco
- Utility Winger. Can play wingbacks

Squad make up :

GK : Lloris/Johnstone/Button
RWB : Baku/Emerson
LWB : Harrison/Reguillon
CB : Romero/Dier/Sanchez/Gvardiol/Davies

CM : Bentancur/Hojberg/Skipp/Winks/Pape Sarr

AM/Wingers : Son/Dybala/Kulusevski/Carrasco/
Striker : Kane/Ben Brereton/Scarlett

I know my striker choice is bit left field - I feel more important hole is to fill the LCB, RWB , LWB. But then , if we get a Dybala on free it make sense to bring a forward like Brereton. I am fully on board with him - i see him like Ings in style. He would be sort of player who will go to another club in summer and score lot of PL goals and then we regret that why we didnt go for him. IMO, he gives a good balance to overall squad.
While Harrison would be a quality squad depth addition & is English, he is not HG. Came through in the states & was in MLS for a few years.

Ins.

Johnstone - GK
Livramento - RWB
Bastoni/Pau Torres/Gvardiol - LCB
Bissouma (providing he is cleared) - CM
Bale - RWF
CDK - Striker

Outs

Gollini
Doherty
Tanganga
Rodon
Bergwijn
Lo Celso
Ndombele

Loan

Austin
Patkosi
White
Sarr
Gill
Scarlett

Squad

GK- Lloris, Johnstone, Whiteman
CB- Romero, Dier, Davies, Sanchez, NEW CB
RWB- Livramento, Royal
LWB- Reguillon, Sess
CM- PEH, Bentancur, Skipp, Winks, Bissouma
Forwards - Kane, Son, Bale, Kulusevski, Lucas, CDK

This is my dream scenario, haven't picked a left centre back as like the 3 mentioned and would be happy with any of them. Think 5 good centre backs is enough for then all to get game time. Any more and we are left in a Rodon situation where one will be nowhere near the pitch and becomes a pointless squad member. Five CM's so we can be more flexible with our system.

Really key for me that we get good loans for the players listed. We have seen the difference it made with Skipp and I would be happy for each of them to get regular football next year and develop.

Last summer I was hoping the Spurs would go after Luis Diaz. And they really did, and we were so close to signing him.

This time I propose a new name this summer: Angel Correa, 26 years old. Why him?
1. Atletico current best player despite being a rotation player only of Simeone, not a key player.
2. Atletico top scorer with 10 goals
3. Very versatile can play everywhere in midifield or forward, center or wings.
4. CAN play right midfielder, so can easily be a right wing back
5. Originally he is a number 10, but Simeone makes him a versatile player.
6. Valuation should be around €40 million which is fair
7. La Liga player of the month of January.

Signed a new contract until 2026 in January

If Madrid do indeed want Reguillon back I'd consider if there is a LWB out there that Conte likes.

Could potentially sell Reguillon and fund moves for a LWB and a RWB and be better off.

This is what I’d like to see in the next 12-18 months

Buy- Pope 15m, Baku 25m, Sule free transfer, Botman 30m, Bissouma 40m, Eriksen free transfer, Raphinha 60m, Bale free transfer, Belotti free transfer

Total cost excluding wages- £170m

Sell- Gollini loan terminated, Sanchez 20m, Tanganga 15m, Rodon 15m, Carter-Vickers 5m, Emerson 15m, Doherty 5m, Winks 15m, Bergwijn 20m, Dele 20m?? (He’ll hit some targets but probably barely any ?), Ndombele 40m

Total estimate recouped- 170m

I believe that’s 11 players out and 9 in. Lots of change but losing any of the 11 I listed would not effect us at all in my opinion, they aren’t leading characters, or players that contribute regularly. I’d promote Lavinier to #2 RWB behind Baku and Paskotsi to #2 RCB behind Romero as Dier can cover there too, if Romero is injured with Sule or Botman playing central CB.

Leaving us with this starting 11 once business is concluded

GK- Lloris
RWB- Baku
RCB-Romero
CCB-Dier/Sule (actual competition/rotation for this spot is paramount! Sule would be perfect)
LCB-Botman
LWB- Reguillon
CM- Bissouma
CM- Skipp
RW- Raphinha
ST- Kane
LW-Son
4 changes to starting 11 with 2 having PL experience and proven quality. Baku is a slight gamble but I rate him and he’s certainly better than what we have.

Bench- Pope, Lavinier, Dier/Sule, Davies, Sessegnon, Bentancur, Eriksen, Bale/Lucas, Belotti.

I know that there are lots of free transfer deals to be had this Summer & can understand the clamour to be part of the auctioning that’s going to happen but what would really excite me is to bring in a virtually unknown ( to me at least) who turns out to be the next Kante or N’didi at Leicester, Robertson at Pool, Bowen or Soucek at Wet Spam, Cucurella, Bissouma or Trossard at Brighton, to name but a few.
After all we did find & acquire Alli (who was excellent before his injury & downturn in form), so why can’t we find them early rather than waiting for them to blossom somewhere else & go up on value so that they are either out of our price range or would severely eat into whatever budget we have & restrict who else we can go for.
It seems like good scouting should be a given for a team with our reputation for being careful with money but as of now haven’t seen much evidence of it.

Sule is off to Dortmund on a free, already agreed.

But we certainly need a CB like him who is gonna challenge Dier and potentially replace him.

That’s a real shame, he would have been perfect! I’m not sure we could attract someone like De Vrij without champions league, although Conte will be a factor and the wages we offer as it’s realistically his last contract

Hopefully De Vrij is that man. I have a friend who is an Inter fan and he seems to think a sale for the right money is likely in the summer. Brozovic is expected to sign a new contract though.

Options: Romero, Dier, New LCB, De Vrij, Davies
Sell: Sanchez, Rodon
Loan: Tanganga

I would be tempted to go with this next season and use Emerson as an emergency RCB should we get 3 injuries. Alternatively we could keep Tanganga.

I started typing who I thought we should sell and then realised this is going to take more than 1 summer window to get sorted.
Doherty, Tanganga, Royal, Rodon, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Moura, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Dele, Lo Celso.
Any one of them could be sold and upgraded fairly easily.
