Andy Carroll's latest injury won't help matters but it should not surprise anybody - I think his problem is as fundamental as the top half of his body being too heavy for the bottom half.

The same terminology could be placed at the Tosspots own feet.

Mark Lawrenson's latest complete load of bollocks should not surprise anybody - we all know his problem is as fundamental as the space between is ears does not hold nearly as much about football as he would like to think

Can't believe this posted 8.5 hours ago and no one's called him a cad yet.

As ever, he's a cad.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

has the weekend game down for a 1-1 which is resonable, but considering our first two games where against West Ham and QPR and he predicted we would get 1 point from those two goes to show he is a complete and utter fraud and for good measure a cad.

Talk about stealing a living.

"Tottenham's results up to the 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool game had flattered them.

Had West Ham scored that penalty in the first game, then Spurs would have lost. I like their manager Mauricio Pochettino, but I'm not sure his team possess enough threat going forward.

We are seeing a trend among some teams when it comes to a lack of attacking threat - Sunderland are another where you ask where the goals are coming from.

I think Gus Poyet's team will be fine this season, but they haven't had a goalscorer who can get them 15 goals or so regularly since Kevin Phillips."

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Arsenal v Man City

1-1

Chelsea v Swansea

3-0

Crystal Palace v Burnley

2-1

Southampton v Newcastle

2-0

Stoke v Leicester

2-0

Sunderland v Tottenham

1-1

West Brom v Everton

0-2

Liverpool v Aston Villa

2-0

SUNDAY

Man Utd v QPR

2-0

MONDAY

Hull v West Ham

2-1

The QPR game flattered us?

We dont possess an attacking threat?

Darren Bent scored 24 goals for Sunderland in one season a few years ago

agree with him, QPR flattered us by being the worst PL side I can remember for some time at WHL.
In big games were are impotent, a lack of creativity and pace in the final third which will obviously diminish
the goal return. Naturally on occasion we will stuff a bottom half side at home but we have been capable of doing that for years.

Apparently, according to the BBC Sport website, he's a football expert.

1-1 is a fair prediction from someone who rarely looks past previous results and not the contents of the games, but I think we'll win.

I like to compare the BBC football expert with Sky's Football expert who also does predictions...

Despite Merson being a gooner cad, I think his prediction and analysis is much better and I'm siding with that 'expert' on this one :)

Sunderland v Tottenham
I’ve watched Sunderland quite a few times this season. They did well against Man United, but against West Brom they didn’t do very well and against QPR they were terrible. I think Tottenham will suffocate them, despite losing to Liverpool in their last game. Liverpool were very good that day and I think that showed Spurs are still some way behind the top teams, but I’m definitely going for an away win this week.

PAUL PREDICTS: 0-2

Disagree with Lawro this time.

That 3-0 score to liverpool, flattered liverpool.

I do agree had we taken some chances, the game would have been much easier, but a very soft penalty right after half time, edged it and played right into liverpool's style - sit back, counter with pace.

Meh... I do agree that tomorrow's game is likely to be a draw though :)

I don't think we're quite as inept in attack as Lawro puts on, but he is dead on that we lack in creativity. However, I don't think that issue translates to playing bottom half sides. Teams better than us easily suffocate us due to our predictability and few sources of energy, but against inferior sides far more often than not the individual quality triumphs on the day. I expect that trend to continue this weekend.

Just to put any accusations of overwhelming bias to bed, I also predicted Liverpool would beat us handily (2-0), but I was dismayed to see our issues in central midfield unfortunately still remain quite rampant.

They could have also been 3-0 up before the penalty though, with Balotelli forgetting his shooting boots. Of course, we should have grabbed one of our own through Adebayor/Chadli, and the penalty was a disgusting dive, but nevertheless I don't think 3-0 particularly flattered them unfortunately
