Parish: We all have to stick together..........

Today

Parish: You're sacked Frank

What a complete clown. As someone else has said, they've got some proper hard fixtures coming up, if that coiffured, chubby chops, effiminate voiced codpiece doesn't get any results will they still 'all have to stick together'?

Palace have soton away, city away, utd away and Chelsea at home in their next 4 games. Will they sack Hodgson when he fails to get anything from these matches?

May as well have given de boer the chance to try implement his style over another 4 games when they aren't expected to win
Probably feel that he'll have four games to get to where they need to be to play the lower sides rather than wait and lose the first four of those too, I have no doubt that Hodgson will start getting some results and most probably keep them up but it will also cement Palace's place as a scrape by club with no plan for the future in place.

I thought Bilic would be a disaster at WH, but in the circumstances - the horrid move to the OS & the on-going clownshow that is Gold & Sullivan - he's actually done a pretty good job in my opinion. Calmer and more mature than I'd expected. I quite like the guy now, despite loathing him before seeing him up-close, esp. because of his behaviour in that WC SF back in the day.

I'm not sure I commented at the time, but I thought it was a really strange 'fit' - for De Boer in particular. The Palace team was so unlike how he would want to play. The club also hasn't got the established set-up, youth orientated ethos he's used to... It just seemed a bit of a bonkers choice really.

Sounds like he's tried to put his approach in place, the players weren't receptive to a change in style, not that I think they could anyway, and everyone has lost faith pretty quickly after the start to the season.

Moral of the story - choose carefully.

I read that as him asking for the fans to not turn on them.

Exactly; a strange appointment for a team/club not really in a position to move forward in that kind of style. Deciding early bodes well for them getting things sorted but really does show how poor an appointment it was.

FDB could have chosen much better as well IMO for the same reasons.

....................The man who thought it was a great idea for Harry Kane to take corners.(y)

Forgot in my response that the rumoured replacement is Hodgson - seriously, i can't quite work out how the guy is employable at PL level anymore. Would be a seriously boring and potentially worse manager for them.

Exactly!! Palace are just a rubbish football team, full of players who think they are better than they are:

Van Aalholt, Zaha, Benteke, Sakho, Puncheon, and then players who are just pure rubbish:

Schlupp, Ward, Delaney, Kelly, McArthur.

Unfortunately, De Boer decided to bring in young players with a view of improving but hasnt been given any time.

Heads should roll at board level too IMO. They're as much to blame for this mess as De Boer is.

Always a risk to try to move to a new stylish type of football when you have only one really good player like Zaha and a few reasonable/decent players.

At best it would take a good number of games to get going but to be fair Palace should have thrashed Burnley but for poor finishing.

If they didn't have the balls to go for a project then why bring in FDB in the first place. Now they will be stuck with a dinosaur.

Having obviously lined up Roy Hodgson before yesterday's game, they effectively made their decision after three games. Three or four though, it doesn't matter, it's not long enough for it to be a balanced and informed decision.

Unless he's done something sackable in it's own right (so nothing to do with results, and I don't think there's any suggestion of that sort of thing) it's the board's failure and if they believe the manager deserves sacking, they deserve at least the same and worse.

Zaha, Benteke and Sakho would walk into most teams outside the top 6 tbf. The rest of the team is Sunderland-like relegation material.

Parish needs to take a lot of the blame here. They took forever finding a new manager over the summer once Sam left them suddenly. They were slow in the transfer market and missed out on a few targets, leaving their main one to the last day, and have started poorly. Bad appointment, bad time in charge, just bad all round.

And worse still, probably have to do this all again next summer when (if..) Roy retires.
