Disgraceful attitude to one of our most loyal players. As much as it was time for him to move on, he was spurs through and through.

I'd like him to get some kind of role with us later in his career.

Just because your loyal don't make you a great player as I said I respect him but Im glad he has gone

not sure loyal is really the right word, it's not like he could've ever left us for someone better.

I was just being honest

Being rude is more like it.

You say he was not the player to take us forward...of course not anymore, the bloke is getting on in years!

But he has been with us for the last ten years and been very much a part of 'taking us forward' in that time.

Ok sorry for being rude I just got carried away as I have wanted him to leave for a long time now, everytime I saw his name on the teamsheet I was instantly worried

Good luck to him at Hull maybe he will do Ok there.

He could have left us for a club on our level though. I think in Michael Dawson's case, loyalty is VERY MUCH the right word.

Loyalty goes beyond who he plays for in his case as well. He has shown loyalty to the fans every day of his spurs life and gone above and beyond what most footballers do for their clubs in charity work and other off pitch activities. He simply deserves our respect, no strings attached.

Dawson is a genuine professional, and i wouldn't trade one minute of his time with us for anything. A gentleman, a warrior and a really nice bloke, but not sure he ever really got to grips with facebook - https://www.facebook.com/michael.dawson.716195 (note, the account opened and closed on the same day, 25th September 2011  I actually hope that this is really him, the way it tails off proper made me laugh)

like who?

if you work for a very good company whilst earning very good money, then it's easy to stay "loyal" when the only other offers are from smaller companies on less money, even if there were clubs of equal standing wanting him, why would he move? dawson knew he had a good thing, he's been clinging onto that for a good couple of years now. that's not being disrespectful, it's the truth. he was paid handsomely to do a job and on the whole he did it competently, thanks and good luck. maybe i'm just a cold-hearted bastard but i support thfc not michael dawson, i'll care far more when good players leave the club.

I'm 34 and I'm sad that a man I never met has left his job and has another one lined up. Strange world.

Best of luck Daws! I was always proud to have a man like you in our colours.

I think Dawson epitomized the way things used to be in football. A faithful club player that did everything that was asked of him, didn't chase trophies, never did anything to embarrass the club, appreciated the supporters and was a club man in the mold of Stevie Perryman. We won't see many more like that. Good luck Daws.

Surely this is the kind of player you don't want though?

I'm trying to figure out why so many whiney bastards are in here slating him - is simple English a problem for you guys?

appreciation
əpriːʃɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n,-sɪ-/
noun
noun: appreciation; plural noun: appreciations
1
. Recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something

Do you go to weddings and mumble to the person next to you, "I'll give it til Christmas", or at funerals, "He was a wanker anyway, better him than me", birthdays have you claiming, "Yeah, 21, but looks 40" etc?

Why not just piss off and make your "Michael Dawson put down" thread, then you can circle-jerk til you're all sore and just want to spoon, and you know what? We'll all let you do that, because we're not killjoy dicks.
