His time was up a good while back now, BC will probably say he never had one. But let's not forget he was a mainstay the season we got champions league football and certainly didn't disgrace himself in the CL itself.

Good luck to the bloke.

Actually he was our player of the year that campaign and Tevez said he was the best defender in England.

As I said fair play to him for loving the club and giving it his all but I am glad he has gone and I think he has been very lucky to get where he was as a football player. I'm sorry for all you Dawson lovers out there I am just glad he has gone as a footballer don't matter how much of a nice bloke he is he was never going to take us forward

Except for the fact he did.

Your idiocy is really not needed here.

Love you Daws, not the most technically gifted, prone to a clanger but I love you non the less. It was clear you loved the club and never hid away. You will be one of the few players that have left in the last few years I will follow any time I can.

If people can't show a little appreciation in this thread of all threads without a snide comment... simply GTFO.

Always liked the boy and his example and contribution over the past decade has been exemplary.
If everyone had given his commitment and tried to maximize their ability as he has
we might have been top of the league before this.
I hope they have sorted out his testimonial money.
If anyone deserves he does.

It would be a nice gesture if DL gave Dawson a testimonial anyway regardless that it wasn't quite ten years (bloody near enough).

They're not about the money anyway, that goes to charity, just an opportunity for fans to say thank you and see a few old favourite faces.

He deserves it IMO. A great servant to the club, consummate attitude and professionalism, all round great man.

Many thanks Michael. Hope it goes well at Hull.

All players move on eventually and we all knew this was inevitable.

He was loyal and gave Spurs excellent service and I wish him well at Hull. I'm sure he'll give his best with them as he did with us.

Didn't even know he had gone until now! Disappointed he has gone, but best for us and him I guess. Wasn't going to get in the team so best to reduce the wage bill. Good luck!

I love this man and there's no doubt in my mind that Hull's fans will take to him straight away. He has the sort of attitude that all football fans love to see in their teams players. I wouldn't expect any fan to give as much and care as much if they were playing for this club and that says a lot about him. Got so much respect for the guy and if he does well for Hull I'll be very very happy for him

I just hope I can play as well at Hull as I did for Spurs, give as much to the club and try to get the fans to love me as much as the Spurs fans did, they were special to me.

I don’t know where to start. They’ve been incredible to me. I’ve had some tough times in that nine-and-a-half years as well but they’ve always been there for me, so a massive thank-you to all of them.

I would just talk about unbelievable memories, great times, great matches. I’ve made so many great friends along the way as well. I suppose players spending that amount of time at a Club doesn’t happen as often now but I can truly say I’ve loved every minute

 gonna miss seeing his big smile after a good win, i really, really hope he blows the socks off of the Hull fans and they get to love him almost as much as we do.

Thank you Michael Dawson!

Sad to see him leave. A loyal servant to club, tried his hardest and always gave it his all. I'm not sure how many more we will get like him. I wish him all the best at Hull, he has made the right move for his career.
I hope the club honour him with a testimonial.

One of my favourite players. He wore the shirt with pride. His passion could not be questioned. He had ability too and put in many man of the match performances. Match saving blocks, goal denying tackles, goal line clearances.Lets not forget he played an important part in pretty much all the good things we have achieved in the past 10 years.

Show him the respect he deserves and only remember the good.

Welcome home any time Daws.

Goodbye Daws, never the most talented (but better than often given credit for) and ALWAYS the most committed.

I'll miss him.

I've got time for any player who puts in a shift and genuinely cares about the team, even the players that I'm not a fan of footballing-wise (see: Jake Livermore - not my cup of tea, but top bloke regardless). And Dawson was better than that, because he had the effort and the passion *AND* was a very decent player to go with it. I agree with most that this is the right time for him to move on and play regularly every week, but no one - not even the cynical Blakes and BCs of the world - can surely doubt his first-class attitude, commitment to and love of Tottenham Hotspur.

And if that mark of good character is not enough for ALL of us to wish him a fond farewell from THFC (and a hearty welcome back on future visits to the Lane) then I'm not sure what is.

The stick he got on here from some people felt very uncomfortable with me.
People have short memories and for a long time he was a top player for us.

Sure his legs had gone and injuries took their toll and it was probably time to move on but he was a great servant for our club and I will miss him.

There's only one Michael Dawson!!!

THFC legend for me.

Looking forward to seeing him back at the Lane with Hull.

Top player and a top bloke.

Yido!

Not much to say that hasn't been mentioned. Hugely likeable character, don't think i've ever heard of him grumbling. All he ever did was fight for his place when previous management tried to off load him & played his bollocks off on each appearance. Might not have been a Jan Vertonghen in terms of ability, but if more players had his balls (ouch!) & attitude the squad would be better for it. The former especially.

Will be one to cheer when back at the Lane.
