I suspect Getir may also be our training kit sponsor considering its prominence on the advertising backdrop for Nuno's press conference

So potentially having Qatar as stadium sponsor and Abu Dhabi buying the naming rights for the washing machines in our laundry room.

Let's tap up IRGC-owned Ehya Sepahan to sponsor our real estate holdings and Myanmar Economic Cooperation for training kits.

Get Kim Jong-Un on the phone. The hotel we're building ain't gonna sponsor itself and they need need put the Ryugyong Hotel branding to good use until they finally complete construction in 2096.

Huawei can provide our in-stadium WiFi.

Don't knock it, the leaked info will be fantastic

Given the state of relations between Qatar and UAE (their diplomatic crisis was uncomfortably close to a full blown conflict in ‘17), I can’t imagine its possible that BOTH Qatar Airways sponsorship and the sketchy Abu Dhabi-based links mentioned in the ITK thread can be simultaneously true.

Either one of them alone? Sure, I could see it. More likely the former than then latter IMO.

Am I the only person who reads Getir like an old cockney saying "get here"?
The Get Here stadium wouldn't be too bad! ?

Great reply.

Thank you.

But I have an issue with the context in the sense that if Levy didn't get his extra 10m a year. Then we're already down that 20m plus the, say 25m a year so 50m.

And I honestly think 300m over a ten year period wasn't/isn't out of perspective.

It's costing us him prevaricating. Like he always does.

Imagine having 300m plus Kanes 150m to build a side inside ffp rules this season out of all seasons to compete.

He's a nightmare.
Moving this here because the ENIC thread is the wrong place for it.

So there are a few issues in your post I reckon.

Firstly, as you mention yourself, the £300m doesn't come as one lump sum... it would be spread over many years. So I don't think it's correct to think about having 300 + 150 to spend on the team now.

Secondly, I think £300m over 10 years is pretty ambitious. I'm not saying it's not possible because I have zero experience of the events/sponsorship industries, but I believe there was a deal mooted at £25m/year before the pandemic which would have been the most expensive deal in history by a bit of a margin (excluding Man City of course).

And finally, I would say that the ambition for that £30m/year (or whatever) valuation is exactly why the deal might be taking a long time. I don't think the stadium opens and the phone line lights up with companies around the world offering £30m/year. The deal would likely be more of a "planned partnership" rather than just a standard sponsor.

What I think is perhaps more likely is that any potential sponsor wants to get maximum return on their investment - and nobody can blame them for that. That would involve having the non-football events going ahead, and probably more importantly having NFL events properly planned in to provide exposure to the American market.

Who knows... maybe it turns out that there has been a juicy deal on the table for 3 years and Levy is pissing about trying to get an extra bit of money from somewhere. That's totally possible. But my guess would be that the deal isn't as simple as all that!

There would appear to be some parallels with the Kane situation in all of this. It's fine for people to say we should sell Kane now, but if there isn't a suitable offer in place it doesn't make sense. Likewise, it's fine to say we should have naming rights by now, but if there isn't a suitable offer (and we would be talking about a record amount) then it doesn't make sense to make a sub par deal.

Given that Son is a superstar in Korea why doesn’t the club just take him to Samsung, LG and Hayundai and say which of you corporate giants wants to name the ground he plays on?

the Samsung stadium… like it…

im sure they approached these companies. But have Samsung sponsored any stadium yet?

Only thing I could find is Hyundai Stadium in Western Australia

I’m sure these 3 do have stadium deals in South Korea. But outside couldn’t really find much.

I was really hoping once the transfer window closed we would here something positive about a potential naming rights deal.

ITK’s said there was something that couldn’t be disclosed during the window and that was the assumption. Nothing has been said since

I'm not doubting them or their sources but it gets said every window, I'm beginning to suspect that Donna thinks if she leaks it often enough it'll magic itself into existence

Seriously I'm having a bit of light hearted banter please nobody lose their trousers over it!

There’s no way Todd Kline is a long term appointment. I’m pretty surprised nothing has happened yet, rumours were pretty strong.

You'd think with the big Joshua fight around the corner, they'd be keen to announce it and get all the branding sorted before that. Would be massive exposure instantly.

So you'd have to imagine nothing is close yet.
