Bloody patriots- Still think it's a crap rule that the first team to receive in overtime score a touchdown and it's game over, the other team should have a go on offence too to match it

College football overtime is vastly superior to the NFL's overtime. The NFL not adopting college football overtime rules is pure stubbornness.

Totally agree-I watch more college football than NFL and always forget the NFL rule, then i get the hump when they remind me

Totally devalues their product as well. It astounds me that some people can argue that it is fair by the justification that if you want the ball then prevent the touchdown. So stupid. As if the NFL hasn't been legislating defense out of the game for 20 years.

Leicester beat us to the league title
Trump wins the Presidency
Patriots win another Super Bowl

The devil is real

Agreed. College OT is a thrill while NFL OT not only takes an age to explain but also gives a huge advantage to the team that wins the coin toss.

So what is the difference between the college and NFL overtime
College: 1 possesion each at opponents 25 yd line. Keep going till someone wins. Ties are impossible.
NFL: TD sudden death. If first score is a FG, opponent gets a chance to tie/win. Ties possible in regular season.

The comment some bloke who called in to the BBC about it being like Brexit & the US Elections, he was spot on.

I hit the sack around the half way mark, just as Atlanta went 25 ahead - Brady's shoulders dropped, i figured it was over so off it went.

Highlights this morning, just savage. It was like Atlanta had been paid off during the break and the Pats replaced with replicants. Wish i'd stuck it out now but once you've seen an interception run over the line from, what was it, 60 yards or whatever, it's surely safe to assume the result was a given. Apparently not.

I watched a bit of the super bowl last night... I enjoyed it... And grasped it quickly although I wouldn't know about tactics and shit like that

I wanted the falcons to win fucking patriots.

Anyways, rugby any day, man sport... None of this padding shit. Hard men, eye gouging, grrrr

Wowser! Got to give huge credit once again to Brady and Belichick but damn, Falcons are going to be reeling from this for a good while to come.

First American football game I've ever watched and I actually think I'm a fan now. Sadly I've grown a soft sport for the Falcons so if you couple them with Spurs I may as well just kill myself now.

I hate everything sbout Boston and their sporting teams. The world would be a much better place without that shitheap. Tired of them winning absolutely everything. Ive had it.

Wouldn't ManU and the Cowboys be a more apt comparison? most championships, biggest draw, worthless owners and front office that keep spending big and getting nothing out on the field, going for big names to push their brand, etc.

As an aside I would equate Spurs to Washington, or the Jets like the video. Broadway Joe last won the big one back in the 60's just like us, we have a higher profile intracity rival, etc.

The Cowboys don't have the most championships, the Steelers do. The reason for the comparison to Man Utd was because the Pats under Belichick are Man Utd under Ferguson - dominate the league, benefit from questionable officiating, have the most hated fan base in the league, are the archetypal bandwagon team and toppled the old order (Cowboys/Steelers/Liverpool).

I hate to agree with you on this but you are correct in saying Spurs are the Jets. They envy the Giants success, we envy Chelsea's.

I wanted the underdog to win yesterday

I think I'll go for the San Diego Chargers as I love San Diego. Are the chargers any good?
