I didn't bother to watch the footie either. So sad it's all coming to an end tonight. It's been magnificent.

I know, Cosmic.

Going to be depressed 'again' tomorrow.

Still, the BRONZE and GOLD 'Murder Ball' games are on today.

The BRONZE is on now. (y)

God channel 4's coverage is annoying! Mostly people talking about the sport in the studio, interspersed with ad breaks and the very occasional cut to someone near the marathon course giving us an update on it.

I agree - I'd have loved to see David Weir - final lap now and he's up there, near the front. USA v GBR footie showing now.

Marathon closing stages about to be shown after the annoying ad break. David Weir is third on this final lap now.

Do we really have to listen to Beckham before and after every break?! It's really irritating.

You and me both, bro.

I think we've (all) been in some kind of weird vacuum the last few years.

I sneered throughout that whole Engerpoo debacle yesterday. Had I not made dinner at the time I wouldn't have bothered. Wished I'd switched back to the Para's in retrospect.
Ah right. Forgot the game was even on tbh. The only dates I have in mind regarding footy are our games. I see from Independant's website that they won. Let's be honest honest here, we all know what's going to happen in 2 yr's time. Either a right gubbing in the 2nd round after topping our group unexpectedly or a dramatic loss on penalties after getting into a superior position against a better team and throwing it away.

Bleh. My daughters have fallen in love with athletics so whenever that's on, I'll be watching that. Also watching so many other sports more regularly. I used to when I was younger, no idea why I stopped.

Really hope the Beeb take the Paralympic coverage for Rio. I love what C4 has done but if the Beeb gave the Paras the coverage they gave the Olympics it could push the whole thing on even more. OK, maybe not Beeb 1 and 2 but both of Beeb 3 and 4 and the red button options etc. All day coverage etc.

What a fantastic summer of sport it has been. I was a major sceptic about the whole Olympics thing. How wrong was I?

The FINAL EVENT is on now ... and it would have to be football. :)

Also, to be a bit John Inverdale BBC CONTROVERSY here for a moment, bit weird how most of the winning sprinters in the Paralympics weren't of West African origin is it not? Weird isn't the right word but you know what I mean.

I wonder if the paralympics will also start to really tighten up the blades issues with regards manufacturers and lengths etc, i.e. an approved "brand" of blades and so on.

I know it's a bit later to say this now, but on SKY I've only had channels 450-452 on throughout - direct event channel - just like I did during the 'other' Olympics.

This has kinda come up in commentary during the early days, particularly regarding the wheelchairs: "the poorer nations couldn't afford the best equipment nor afford better training".

Russia win GOLD in the footy.

I enjoyed watching this 7-a-side much more than those tossers on Friday.

So, we end 3rd in the medals table which is excellent.

I expect with some of the controversies mentioned, there will be some rule changes before Rio and that will make good improvements that will enhance the Games.

I hope both the Olympics and Paralympics have inspired people, especially youngsters whether disabled or not, to take up a sport of some kind and that it will have had a long-lasting impact.

I really didn't think these Games in London would be so wonderful and I'm truly sad they have finished. I'll be following and watching athletics and other sports from other venues more than I would have before them.
