I think it's more about consistency, we don't seem to do it for 90 minutes. When we have a little bad spell in the game you see the players getting a bit nervous (let alone the fans), that's why Parker has been a great signing, he calms down the game and gives us the opportunity to re-build our momentum.

We didn't pass clinically?

We should have been four up in the first half hour where we tore them a new one! We didn't create 4 golden goalscoring opportunities by 'passing sideways.'

Against 9 men? If we can't create 4 goalscoring opportunities against 9 men then we've got problems. See you've got it backwards, we shouldn't be asking why we created 4 opportunities, we should be asking why, against 9 men, we didn't create more. Okay they basically sat back and defended but against 10 we didn't make the most of it by a long way.

Against 11 we looked outstanding.

The first half against Wigan was the best I've seen us play away from home for along time. Thought we were superb.

Read his post properly. He said we created four clear chances before the half-a-hour mark. Against 11 men.

Things are going to get hard now. Today's a big test. We need to win the next 5 games and we'll be 7 points clear of last seasons tally. Liverpool's point was disappointing but given that they won last year it's good news. Arsenal winning bad, they drew last season.

It was purposefully selective reading.

I didn't realise you were psychic Eek

Anyway he said first half I'm pretty sure the first red card was in the first half.

He said first half an hour, not first half <full stop>.

Same against Wigan. By half time we should have been out of sight. We didn't blunder into those goalscoring opportunities, we created them. Just how clinical do you want?

Even against the goons, in a first hour where we almost surrendered the midfield, we still created opportunities, and one goal, through clinical, incisive passing. In the second half even more so.

If there is one thing that has stood out about our play over the past 3 games, it is the movement up front and the way we have exploited it with our service from midfield.
Spot + on.

And...it's irrelevant anyway they got a red card because we pissed all over them, against Liverpool and Wigan we played some of the best football we have played for years!

The fixture list looks quite promising. If we can win most of these games we should be in a good position at Christmas.

Blackburn v Tottenham, 15:00
Tottenham v QPR, 16:00
Fulham v Tottenham, 16:00
Tottenham v Aston Villa, 20:00
West Brom v Tottenham, 15:00
Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00
Stoke v Tottenham, 16:00
Tottenham v Sunderland, 15:00

Anything less than 18 points (5 wins and 3 draws) from those 8 fixtures would, quite frankly, be disappointing.

We've already played Utd, City, Arsenal, Liverpool and gone away to Newcastle so it's only Chelsea out of the top clubs that we haven't played yet.

So far we've done well against the so-called smaller clubs. Last season it was an easy run on paper that produced poor results and missing out on 4th. I've a little more faith that we won't do the same again this season, partially because we don't have CL football so can remain focused on the league.

I know I shouldn't get wound up about things like this but yesterday I saw that one of my mates had voted in a poll on Facebook entitled "Who is the biggest threat to Arsenal's top 4 place?". It would seem that the overwhelming majority believe the answer to this question to be Liverpool.

What have they done to deserve this ffs?! They've lost or drawn almost every tough game they've had (Sunderland (a), Stoke (a), us (a), Man U (h)) and the tougher games they did win (Arse (a), Everton (a)) have been assisted by ridiculous officiating. They're one point ahead of us having played a game more and having played 2 of last season's top 4 to our 3.

I know many of you like the fact that we're 'under the radar' but it would be nice to get some respect!!

I think this is just the inevitable result of your average thick Arsenal fan, and the laughable Liverpool media hype coming together and resulting in a poor understanding of football.

Agreed. If we want to finish 4th then we HAVE to go on a bit of a run with those fixtures (well...continue our current run).

If we can go into the Xmas fixtures ahead of the pack then that would be ideal.

This is a massive load of fixtures we should be looking at getting points from. Will tell us loads about what to expect after.

Blackburn v Tottenham, 15:00 last season 0-1 win
Tottenham v QPR, 16:00 last season 2-1(Birmingham) win
Fulham v Tottenham, 16:00 last season 1-2 win
Tottenham v Aston Villa, 20:00 last season 2-1 win
West Brom v Tottenham, 15:00 last season 1-1 draw
Tottenham v Bolton, 15:00 last season 2-1 win
Stoke v Tottenham, 16:00 last season 1-2 win
Tottenham v Sunderland, 15:00 last season 1-1 draw

not too many points to pick up there over last season, we're currently 5 points better off this season compared to last season's corresponding fixtures.
