This calculation doesn't make sense. We lose when we must win. Our performance is so inconsistent...

i think Conte was right about last season when he said it was a miracle we finished 4th, i think it will be a bigger one if we do it this year.

Realistically there are 3 stand out games that we have consecutively in April that are going to effectively determine whether we get CL football or not. Liverpool A, Man Utd H and Newcastle A.

We've just dropped points against basement boys Southampton throwing away a 2 goal lead with 15 minutes to go.

In my opinion we're going to need to get 7 points from 9 in those 3 games, and based on what I've seen this season, nothing is giving me a hint of belief that we can do it because in my opinion the players don't have the mentality and strength of character and consistency to do that, and we will buckle under the pressure in what will be the real business of showing what we're made of, if Conte sends us out to be passive and he thinks were going to nick those two away games by the odd goal we haven't got a prayer.

If I'm being honest we will get somewhere between 0-4 points from those 3 games and we will be consigned to finishing 5th - 7th.

I want to be more optimistic but a harsh dose of realism is winning out.

Does anyone think it will be nothing short of a miracle if we steal 4th place with this set of bottle jobs?
Chance today to go third, against the bottom team, who have only scored 11 goals at home all season and we let them score 3, after being 3-1 up, total incompetence, nothing less. I know many are not in favour of Conteball, but many of the players let everyone down today, again! Dier ball watching,a non existent midfield, had it not been for some good saves from Forster, it could have been worse, every week they find a new way to let you down further and if Conte goes we might see a bounce from a new face, but nothing changes long term until the mediocrity cancer of ENIC and Levy is rooted out.

Said it two years ago after Jose was sacked, we had a couple of winnable games, but at the same time said as a Spurs fan it's the hope that kills you. We're not getting top 4, not because we're not good enough or because Levy/manager is a useless prick. We simply don't want it enough. Newcastle, Brighton and Liverpool absolutely do, and when one of them makes champions league, they'll actually give it a proper go.
At a normal club, you'd say what we need to do now is rip off the bandaid and get rid of the manager as we all know the final outcome, whether or not we want to accept it. But we're not a normal club, we're nothing more than an NFL-type franchise who just need to be at the top table to turn a profit. Levy will keep Conte is the mad hope he'll achieve another "miracle" and get top four. But in reality, what's the point, we aren't going to give it a go if we make champions league, I honestly envy West Ham being in the latter stages of a shitty European competition that they could win, although if we were in the same position we'd likely give it a half-asred attempt and ultimately go out without doing it or our fans any justice.

Our from since November has been very very poor. It's why I can't see it
In the 2023 Annual Table (on a PPG basis):

7th - Spurs - 1.6 ppg
8th - Newcastle - 1.44 ppg
9th - Liverpool - 1.4 ppg

Brighton is the team to watch - 3rd overall at 2 PPG (but they still have a tough schedule ahead of them - Arsenal, Man City, Man United, Spurs, Chelsea)

Does anyone really still care at this point ?
Like this club has any sort of direction moving forward, for this to matter.

It’s been a strange season in the top 4 race, no one really seems to want it. However, we have games in hand. I’d wager that once Newcastle, Pool etc play their games in hand we’ll drop out of top.

I hate to say this but I think Arsenal might actually finish above us now. 20 points may be a little too much to pull back.

If we get some kind of new manager bounce we might still be able to pull this off. Newcastle are looking pretty solid though. Would be a typical Spurs story to finish above Liverpool and Chelsea and still not make the top 4.

A draw in Newcastle/United tomorrow would be a great start
