Ironically lots of utd fans are now getting really annoyed at ETH and saying he's too stubborn and is costing them top 4 with his weird selections.

Football is so reactionary, if Utd finish 5th even with a league cup the fans will turn on him. Espescially as he forced through Antony for 90m instead of buying a striker.
Looking at Utd fixtures I think they will get top 4 . Home to wolves, Chelsea and Fulham. Away to Bournemouth . They need 9 points if Liverpool win their last 3 games which I think they will.
Erik has done ok with what he’s got. Lost both top centre halves. Eriksen and Casemiro are looking their age. Carrying Weghorst, Martial…why do they bother with him, Sancho..crap, Anthony ..one footed one trI I pony. They are not that good a team but they should have given us a hiding.
standard of the league is not that good this year….apart from City and Arsenal the rest are pretty average.

Yeah I just can't look past United and Newcastle given their easy fixtures and their game in hand.

Would take one of them really shitting the bed in repeated games against weaker opposition to allow Liverpool in.

If anyone does bottle it I think United are the more likely of the two, though.

If we win our last 2 games then I think we’ll qualify for the conference league. Villa have Liverpool away (prob loss) then Brighton at home (something has to give).

Brighton should finish higher than us with all their games in hand, but they include Arsenal, Newcastle and Villa away plus City at home, so you never know.

Problem is we’re shit and almost certainly won’t win our last 2 games.

I’ve never looked forward to the season finishing so much as I have this year for absolute ages.

If Leeds need something to survive on the last day of the season I can certainly see us obliging at their place. The atmosphere will be intense.

After seeing a Brighton today the top 6 has gone. No way are we getting above them. If we win our next two games we will defo be 7th.
having said that…to go to Leeds with them needing a win..god knows what might happen

The fact we had the best ever start to a PL season in our history, and not make Europe League (at least), is a fucking disgrace.

I see the bigger picture - Do not under any circumstances want Europa Conference. There is zero upside to it in the grand scheme of things and the wider and bigger picture.

If we beat Brentford next and Villa lose to Liverpool isn’t Conference League basically sewn due to our superior goal difference

No, because the goal difference is 2. If we win against Brentford by a goal and Villa lose by a goal and that makes it plus 4.

Under usual circumstances you would say that's enough. However these are not usual circumstances.

When we go to an away fixture and the crowd and the opposition are bang up for it and intense, our lot simply can't be trusted. Very recent history has shown that we have shipped in 8 goals in two games in the first 22 mins of games.

Now I might hear many of you say, away at Newcastle and Liverpool is a different kettle of fish to Leeds away. Are they at this particular time. The Leeds fans can be loud and up for it? Frankly I don't trust the collective mentality of our fragile lot not to buckle again and why the hell should I ? They even shipped two late goals to basement bottom Southampton when the Saints and the crowd got up for it.

Totally disagree. We can use the league part of the conference league to give younger players a chance without making massive changes. We're not too big for this cup. We've won nothing for 20 years. Roma fans were happy to win it and west ham will be the same if (please god no) they win it.

We have a big lead over Villa on goals scored which makes it an extra goal. So the turnaround would have to be 5. We might get beat by Leeds, more than likely at the moment, but they are at home to Brighton.
we have every chance of 7th if we beat Brentford .
before the conference plate started 7th was Europa and that would be ok. Now it’s the conference plate and not quite the same.
might as well give it a go if we are in it. Problem is , the players haven’t really given it a go in the last 2 seasons in the Europa.

It isnt about us being too big - we are certainly not given our lack of success.

I see things as baby steps at the moment... chasing trophies when we are in our state, and im not overblowing it - we are in a state internally and on the pitch. Im keen for our new coach to just focus on the bread and butter domestically and on the pitch fixing our identity and implementing his own style.

You say play the kids - the last time we did that, we lost against Pacos Ferreira and there was meltdown. Remember Mura? meltdown. and dont think we even played the kids, so the whole playing the kids, in theory yes, in practice? may not work and I think we need more than playing the kids.

With Utd winning the league cup and either them or city winning the fa cup does this mean 7th can get us Europa League?
