Interesting that Chelsea and Leicester have back to back games against each other. Chelsea's run in when seen in context with the cups is super tough. If they get past Real as well, they've got the final the week after Villa.

Looking at our fixtures alongside everyone else’s, I think 5th seems realistic for us, with 4th still being plausible.

Here's a question...

Where is the postponed United vs Liverpool game going to go?

As things stand here are their ends to the season...

Thu 6th May – United vs Roma EL

Sat 8th May – Liverpool vs Southampton
Sun 9th May – Villa vs United

Wed 12th May – United vs Leicester

Sun 16th May – West Brom vs Liverpool

Wed 19th May – Burnley vs Liverpool
Wed 19th May – United vs Fulham

Sun 23rd May – Liverpool vs Palace
Sun 23rd May – Wolves vs United

There isn't a clear space for it. They could move West Brom vs Liverpool to Wed 12th May and then have the game on the Sun 16th. Otherwise, they're gonna have to have a double midweek like we did at the beginning of the season. Just wouldn't want United playing Leicester and Liverpool two days apart.

They’ll make an exception and play it after the final weekend. You just know it because it’s the two teams they love the most.

Ugh with Liverpool knowing what they need to do to overtake us and United having nothing to play for. That would be horrible.

Whilst I’m positive the game won’t be rescheduled for ‘after’ the season, thankfully for us in a United vs Liverpool fixture, United will always have something to play for. Beating arch rivals being the minimum motivation for them, possibly depriving them of the Champions League being the cherry on top.

I'm not discounting West Ham in the top four hunt but I fancy Burnley not to get beat today which will keep us above them either by a point or by goal difference. Ours is +22 theirs is +10 so that's like an extra point for us too. Even if they do win we can move above them again next weekend. They have a tough game against Everton who are super inconsistent.

With Man U v Liverpool off it means next weekend is looking tasty. Liverpool could have rendered Man City v Chelsea meaningless but instead it still has huge significance so hopefully City go full strength and win it to clinch the title. We still need Man Utd to not lose the rearranged fixture whenever that gets played but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it!
If we can do our job and beat Leeds. Big if, I know we would really close the gap. We play before everyone except Leicester who have the Friday gig again. I doubt Newcastle can hold Leicester but it would be nice if they at least didn't get blown away as our goal difference is the same as theirs. Game on!

Next round of fixtures the most crucial one IMO for top4.

Key for us is, Newcastle have to get something of the game from Leicester. And hope City beat Chelsea.
If we do our part and the Leciester/Chelsea results go our way, then its open season. Anything can happen. But if Leicester/Chelsea both win 3 points coming week, we can forget top4

Ive just done a PL predictor and we would need a lot of other teams to falter whilst we would need at least 3 wins and a draw.

Leicester would need to drop points in all 4 remaining matches. Chelsea would have to at least lose one and have one draw. West Ham would need to draw a couple of games too as would Liverpool.

I think there is too much to do with us having to rely on other results.
Is that for top four, Kingy or for Europe?

Beat Leeds and we have a real chance, I expect Leicester to beat Newcastle but pick up no more than 2 away to United and Chelsea. If we have won our 3 against Leeds, Wolves, Villa, then we would go into the final game of the season at Leicester 3 points behind them and likely with a superior goal difference.

If we could take top 4 qualification down to the final day of the season then even that would feel like a victory given how this season has gone.

Anything below West Ham is unacceptable though, really hope they have to play the conference league and get Astra Goo goo again

For CL, we just need to focus on our own fixtures as we're still 5 points away. Win at Leeds is crucial, if we fail then I think that opportunity is gone.

No surprise that all those dropped points from winning positions will come back to bite us

I wouldn't worry too much.

United's last act of the season being preventing last season's champions - and their arch-rivals - from getting into the Champions League, will be a big motivator for them.

United loathe Liverpool far more than they loathe City. They'd love to see us make top 4/5 over Liverpool.

Why is people talking so much about Leicester? What about Chelsea?

We win next week vs. Leeds and Chelsea lose to City it's 2 points up with 3 games to go.

In those 3 Chelsea have Arsenal, Leicester and Villa.

It's certainly possible.

Chelsea have a tricky run in for sure, especially with cup distractions. Man C, Arsenal, Leicester, and Villa - They have only conceded 10 goals in the 22 games since Tuchel took over (17 clean sheets), and 5 of those were in their one off 5-0 defeat with 10 men against WBA, so it is hard to see them dropping too many points. I guess we need to hope Man C beat them and they draw with Arsenal and Leicester.

Leicester have a very tough run in, but they also have a lot of points in the bag.... Newcastle, Man U, Chelsea, Spurs. If Newcastle can get a result against them then they very well may wobble!

We also need to keep in mind that West Ham have a relatively favourable run in ... Burnley, Everton, Brighton, West Brom, and Southampton, five very winnable games which, if they win, mean they finish above us.

Liverpool will also finish above us if they win all their games, and they largely have relatively easy fixtures too - Southampton, West Brom, Burnley, Palace. The Man U game being postponed is actually quite a positive thing for us.

All we can do is win our games (Leeds, Wolves, Villa, Leicester) and hope those other four all drop points. Personally, I think it is a long shot to expect all four of those clubs to drop points.

Just win every game and if it’s not meant to be then so be it.

Play aggressive and on the front foot, because we have the firepower to blow Leeds, Wolves, Villa and Leicester away.

Liverpool’s home form is atrocious though. Southampton and Palace could take points from them.
