How quickly people forget...

The only time buying loads of players in one window has done us any good at all was the summer Arnesen bought us a whole new squad, and it was hardly difficult to improve since we'd nearly got relegated the season before.

We will definitely ship a few out this summer but I would be surprised (and slightly concerned) to see more than 4 senior players come in. Quality over quantity, evolution not revolution etc.

We need 4 or 5 even if we don't let people go imo - and it looks as though a few will be moving on who perhaps we don't want to Ericksen and Alderweireld - you have to question Lamela' s fitness - Llorente surely he won't be around for another season - is Wanyama good enough - that's not even questioning the full backs and the need for a third keeper

So perhaps the numbers do need to be fairly high

My problem is not his few dodgy mistakes - everyone does that. Lloris though makes more than others.

More that his form the past seasons has been worse every season that has gone by.

Hell even Jenas says so, and that Poch should serious consider dropping him.

People need to look at current Lloris and not the Lloris we had 3 seasons ago. He's been with us since 2012 afterall, at that time he was class.

Like I said we have bigger problems in the summer, but we need to look at the GK-situation in the next 1-2 years imo.

I'm not suggesting that he hasn't made more than a fair share of errors this season. But he's still up there as one of the best keepers in the league this season.

What I also know is that he's pulled off some stonking saves, is captain, a chipper bloke to have around the place and thought highly by Poch on a personal level.

Of course if a downward trajectory ensues and he turns into, let's say a bottom 5 keeper, then of course this will need looking at.

At present for me, there's nothing to look at, because there's nothing alarming to see.

We're already expecting a bit of upheaval this Summer. I'm suggesting getting rid of a senior pro, Captain no less, is not the way forward. He'll be important for helping get these new guys settled.

Now is not the time.

I don't think there's any urgent need to look at replacing Lloris, but having said that I think he's regressed a fair bit this season. I think the drink driving saga shook him and he seems less confident. He'll race 30 yards out of his goal one minute and then stay rooted to the spot the next. His kicking is also very suspect now. Everything gets ballooned up in the air whereas Ederson will fire a 50 yard pass that goes 10 ft off the ground and gets there in a fraction of the time a Lloris effort does. Needs to work on it big time.

Regarding Lloris. He's had a few dodgy moments. But I'd much rather appreciate all the good he does both on and off the field for the club.

He's pulled off some truly fantastic saves this season, game winning saves.

So he's fluffed a few attempts in the save department and his kicking can be suspect at times.

Anyone witness de Gea's goalkeeping of late. Exactly, is he still considered one of the World's best...of course he is. Shit happens at times.

You'd be hard pushed to find better than Lloris without spending a hefty sum.

Appreciate the good he does, he's had little protection in front of him and is still right up there with the leagues top performers this season.

By all accounts hIm and Poch have a great relationship and he's a well liked player around the place.
This just sounds rose tinted to me.

Gazza much more vocal for me - if you’re going to have a captain on the field, why have a mute one?

He cost us several points this season, but let's not forget that he had no preseason as he played every single game of the World Cup.
And to be completely honest, he may have relaxed a bit after winning the WC. It's the pinnacle of football

Lloris is still word class. He'll return to his best next season

Lloris will be our number one next season but he does need to up his game and a couple of penalty saves shouldn't cloud the fact that his decision making has been erratic at best.

I'm sure Hugo would be the first to admit he can perform better, generally speaking, over the course of a season then he has.

Has to rid those 'edgy/panicky' moments out. Which surprises me as he's so experienced and has won the World Cup.

We have far more pressing concerns to address this summer but Hugo does need to raise his level.

He's a class keeper when confidence is flowing, but I think those wobbly moments need looking at this summer. Distribution could improve as well.

It’s a good question. If spending decent £ then someone like Kasper Schmeichel. Think Nick Pope would be a good signing from Burnley given Heaton is no. 1 again. While he is a shithouse, also think Matt Ryan will be a top goalkeeper. Sure there are others from Europe.
Replacing Lloris with the required quality means we need to be looking a lot higher than signing anyone from that list.

It basically means Oblak.
Excellent shot stopper but with question marks over distribution, decision making and commanding his six yard box - surely we could do better. Would upgrade if possible and give Kane the captaincy.
Kane should never be captain. He’s too quiet and nice.

Regarding the debate about Lloris: yes, he's cost Spurs a few points this season but so have every other goalie as well - even de Gea. So I am not saying Spurs should sell him. But he's not done very well, otherwise Real M. and PSG would come knocking.
It's hard to see how goalies from outside the EPL would adjust the EPL and Lloris has shown he can adjust.
Other possible candidates would be:
Thomas Strakosha, Andre Onona, Casper Cillessens, and, should Real M. buy de Gea, then maybe either of Courtois or Keylor Navas would become available.

I’m not allowing myself to contemplate that Eriksen might leave.

He’s irreplaceable.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY is irreplaceable.

We've lost the likes of King, Berbatov, Modric, Bale. Yet we're consistently better now than we were when we had them.

We simply adapt & move on.

A lot of positions that need addressing before we look between the sticks.

Would take a lot of money to get a GK who is better than Hugo, would rather put that money into the areas that need upgrading more urgently.

I'd really like us to strike early and sign Che Adams.

Huge potential and a rumoured price of around £15m.

Exactly the sort of shrewd homegrown signing we used to make, that Liverpool, Leicester, and Bournemouth now make in our stead.

With Son and Parrott we'd be sorted at CF for the next 5-7 years.

Priorities have to be both full back positions, 2 centre midfielders and a new attacker who can play wide and up top.

That’s before Eriksen or Toby replacements...

We have a lot to do just to stand still.

What we can’t have is another repeat of this season. 3/4 players out injured and all of a sudden we can barely name 7 substitutes, any of whom can change a game. The likes of Lallana would certainly be an addition to our squad currently when you consider he bench we had vs Ajax.

If we could add Lallana on a cheap price and we spend the moneys on good other players (mainly CM) too I would be fine with that.
Worth a gamble and more useful than the likes of N'Koudou.
Feels not really like a Levy Deal though.
