I suspect that Poch rates KWP's potential but thinks he's too physically weak to be trusted right now. He barely featured at all this season after he was absolutely bullied by Antonio in the cup match against West Ham. He's still a young lad an will develop physically over time, and with 5-10 pounds worth of upper body muscle he'll stand a much better chance of matching up with Premier League wingers. That would explain why he never gets selected but also why he's been kept around.

Agree, he is too lightweight. Doesn't seem to take much to brush him aside and that won't cut it in this league. He isn't that young either now. Even though he is 22, he looks like a boy up against men at times. I'd give him this summer to really work on his strength and then have him as backup to a new RB next season and see how he gets on. Trippier and Aurier can both go for me.

Trippier isn't exactly chiselled from granite. I don't really know why KWP hasn't had more chances. Most of his outings won him MOM ratings if memory serves me right.

He's still sufficiently young to have not filled out yet -- whether he ever does is what will determine if he makes it with us or not IMO. I think you're right that he'll be kept around, especially with Foyth able to slot in at RB, to see how he develops physically. For me it will be Trippier and Aurier out, new first-choice quality RB in, with KWP given a chance to prove himself and Foyth there to cover if he can't.

The no signings thing is taking on a mythical status now. People write as though it's the norm for us not to be active in the transfer market. It's not.

I don’t think that’s true. We all know it’s not the norm, just the majority of us think it was foolhardy and senseless off the back of a strong season. We could have pushed on and been closer to the two clubs at the top of the table, but instead we were left short in the squad due to the inactivity.

https://www.getfootballnewsgermany....nterested-in-sc-freiburg-defender-robin-koch/

Bild are reporting Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia are interested in signing 22-year-old SC Freiburg defender Robin Koch.

The report suggests that any transfer could exceed the fee received for Caglar Söyüncu, who joined Leicester City last summer for €21.1 million.

Koch’s contract expires in 2021 and so the Bundesliga club would hold substantial power in negotiations should a Premier League outfit make a bid.

Bale's agent gets on very well with Levy. If Bale is guaranteed to get all his wages (which he would be on loan) then he chooses the team he wants to play for and I believe that will be a personal decision. Why wouldn't he want to come back to Tottenham?

Financially I think Spurs would be happy to pay a significant part of his wages as it would be a one year liability and I'm sure they will be able to more than cover the costs with increased commercial opportunities of having Bale back.

You also don't disrupt the wage structure at the club as technically he's still being paid by Real Madrid.

It's like the Adebayor deal, but with someone the fans actually like!
This is true. We have a lot of Barnett’s players with us.

I don’t think this current line from Bales agent is doing him any favours. It’s making them both look like nothing more than money grabbers.

That is one of the most ridiculous football things I’ve ever heard. Cafu. Maicon. Fuck me.
Don't know what your problem is SS77. He is very much like Maicon...on those CL nights that he faced Bale. I assume this impending transfer means Tripps won't start tonight lest Napoli get a high profile chance to reassess their initial scouting.

I think Bale will leave on loan as nobody is going to match his wages. Where he goes is anyones guess, but I don't think anyone should rule us out as Bale, not Real Madrid, is holding all the cards and I think his agent is enjoying this immensely
looking like Utd on a perm re the info posted a few days ago. Dumb as fuck from utd as they will be splashing out big, but that is how that club is run now. Its all about pleasing investors.

Yes, but point is if he wanted to keep KWP then why not play him. So by Trippier playing now it means KWP isn’t rated either no?

I’m trying to be optimistic here.

Maybe he has told KWP that he’s part of Poch’s future plans but wants to give Trips more game time so that we could get a better price in the summer with the excuse that he’s one of our ‘regulars ‘ and not one of our ‘castoffs ‘. ?‍♂️

For me it’s a double whammy. Not only did it affect this season but it will mean we need more this summer so it could end up being an overhaul rather than 2-3 additions.
