Looks like we might be seeing the final days of Gareth Bale at real Madrid.

Jonathan Barnett has labelled the Real Madrid fans a disgrace.

Only one winner here :barefoot:

Bit of a confusing end game with Bale at the moment, the way it’s being dealt with puts it on a knife edge. Fans clearly aren’t happy, many stories say that at least twice this season having been subbed he’s just gone home. That won’t endear him to anyone.

Yet in the same press release where his agent says Madrid fans should be ashamed of themselves (in fairness they’ve been a bunch of hankie waving whingers for ages) he says “we are sick of these fake stories that he is leaving”.

So in one statement, implies he’s surely off, then says he’s sick of stories saying he’s leaving.

Surely with this though, there comes a point when him staying there is just untenable??

Agree with the inconsistent comments which were strange, but the fans weren't happy anyway, they will be rabid for Bale after these comments.

I just can't see that he can stay there.

Bale’s agents comments did seem weird to me too.

On one hand he’s slating their fan base saying that should be glad they have him (which is hardly going to win them any popularity contests or improve things for Bale there) then goes on to insist Bale will be there next season, having helped to burn even more bridges...

Just remember that if they can force a transfer without any need to submit a transfer request they will pocket enormous bonuses from the contract being paid up should he move.

If we're selling Eriksen and Trippier, where's the creativity coming from besides one of these pipe-dream, wonder signings you're all fapping furiously over?

If our midfield was as creative as your brains when dreaming up transfer targets, we'd be alright tbf.

Real have the worst fans in the sport imo. Self entitled glory hunting wankers by and large.
They were poor at Wembley.

In my scenario we are buying a new CM and a new DM. Kovacic or Rabiot and Berge ideally. That leaves us with Kovacic/Winks for one spot and Dier/Berge at the other. That is plenty depth especially with Skipp coming through the ranks.

If we can use 15 mil from Sissoko to put towards the budget for a really good midfielder we should be all over that.

Sissoko has been much better than Kovacic this season. I’ve been massively underwhelmed by him and it’s making sense why he doesn’t get selected for the Croatia first XI when everyone is fit. As it stands, Kovacic is a downgrade on Sissoko.

Sorry guys but don't want players with Bale's attitude at Spurs (pretending they're gods). Don't care how good he is/was, would love all that money in wages spent somewhere else

The depth of Madrid’s squad is insane. Not only do you have Bale whose not getting many games, but the likes of Vallejo, Isco, Valverde, and Mariano are hardly getting a chance either.

And that’s without counting their players out on loan like Kovacic, Odegaard, Hakimi, and T Hernandez.

We could ask for more than one player in return for Eriksen. I don’t know if I’d want Bale back. His injuries, age, and wages all count against him.

You have your opinions, I have mine. I think people would be shocked at how much better he would look here than what we currently offer. I posted a clip a few pages back of him breaking our press, Sissoko couldn't pull that off. We literally went a full game without a shot on target because Eriksen was off the pace. Our midfield still creates nothing post Dembele and is infinitely worse off defensively.

We struggle to beat the press, we look defensively suspect, and don't create much of anything.

This is already the most games we've lost in a season in the past 3 years and we have yet to play City & Liverpool away. The positions that have changed are midfield and fullback. We've clearly gotten worse in these spots and have to upgrade them.

I don’t see Sissoko leaving. He’s had a very good season and the tactical versatility he offers Poch is too valuable. I very much hope he stays.

In an ideal world, I’d like Dier moved back to defence. He’s a very solid DM, but doesn’t have that natural, 360 degree, midfield awareness you need at the top level.

In my opinion we need at least two, possibly three, central midfielders in this summer, with Skipp the 5th choice cover (if we revert back to our standard 4-2-3-1 formation that is)

Just my opinion and what I would do.

Bale, despite his fitness issues, is still one of the best attacking players in the world. I’d take him back in a heartbeat.

Know him well, do you?

The Real fans were even jeering Ronaldo last season. As soon as your standards drop no matter how marginally they turn on you. I really don’t see the draw of going to Madrid, without Ronaldo they’re nothing. Look at them this season, been awful in the league in comparison to previous years. Real squad needs a major overhaul... they’re no longer ‘Galaticos’...

I agree we need to improve our midfield, and we could upgrade on Sissoko. No doubt about that at all.
I just don’t think Kovacic is the man to do it. I think he’s simply overrated. He’s a fine player, but there’s plenty I’d take ahead of him. Including the man he seems to share his playing time with at Chelsea, Barkley.

I like the idea of Berge.

As an outsider looking in, there seems to be more backstabbing going on at Real Madrid than at a Tory party conference.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if (wisely) he kept his team mates at arms length.
