OUT: Eriksen IN: Brandt
OUT: Lamela IN: Grealish

Attack:
OUT: Llorente and Janssen IN: Bale (two year loan à la James)
OUT: Nkoudou IN: Dan James
Would you really want 4 new attacking midfield players? That seems way OTT. I just think we need a Lamela replacement (Grealish) and a Llorente replacement. Thats plenty IMO.

And an Eriksen replacement...

So, you are already at 3 - a 4th does not seem so unlikely

It's five out, four in. It goes without saying that if Eriksen goes he absolutely must be replaced, and IMO we really need a second playmaker to be able to slot in for whoever that replacement is in case of injury or rotation. When Eriksen has been absent or off form we've been dreadful, so we'd be putting ourselves in the exact same situation by replacing him but not addressing the Lamela problem.

As for the other positions we'd be replacing two No. 9s that Poch doesn't really fancy with a world class (when fit) player who would fill the same role as Son, playing primarily as WF and slotting in up top if need be. We'd also be exchanging one young player we took a punt on for another. As I said in my post if we can't nab Dan James we wouldn't really need another signing to take that place in the squad, it'd just be an opportunistic signing of a young talent who's available cheaply due to his contract running down.

Don't really disagree with many of the names already mentioned but personally wouldn't mind Matt Doherty being added. Proven himself to be a reliable RWB and also dangerous in the opponent's box from set pieces and breaks, gets a few goals too. His extra height could be advantageous to our defence too as the combined height of Rose and Trippier is only about 5'5.

Fair, I suppose I overlooked the Eriksen piece completely agree on that.

Anyone think James Milner on a Bosman would be worth it. Not a glamour signing in any way but he's tough as an old boot, masses of experience and can play just about anywhere. I'd say not a bad HG option as a squad player.

I don't see why not if he's not wanting a big signing on fee and a huge last pay out. He seem to be a leader on the pitch, can play various positions and doesn't complain about being on the bench. And he seem to have leadership qualities.

If we are looking at free transfers who play a similar role to Eriksen I’d take Mata ahead of Lallana.

Mata couldn't cover a slice of bread let-alone the amount of distance Eriksen gets through a game, doesn't fit our system at all.

We all seem to have a tad more realism this Summer to last. Young upcoming stars being order of the day.

Phew. Good thing City are signing Bruno Fernandes. They were lacking in the attacking midfielder area...
