Just got round to watching the game. Eerily echoing the senior game later on (or vice versa chronologically speaking I guess).

It was a very decent performance first half, Marsh looks very good, a metronomic little player. Everyone did ok, no other real stand-outs just a generally good, coherent team performance.

Second half all rhythm just seemed to disappear, we became disjointed and they grew better, I still think losing that game was a little harsh based on the 90, an own goal and a very harsh penalty putting a slightly faltering score to the game, but make no mistake, this was a very decent Lverkusen team, very aggressive, pressed well and once they got going played some good stuff.

Unlike our youth teams of late, you could see the continuity of philosophy in their U19's with their first team, or at least it was more evident.

KWP had a decent game overall, Walkes, TOB, Harrison had moments, Tracey and Roles worked hard but didn't really blow me away.

Anyway you can share how you watched it? Can't find a recording

lyons-foster, eyoma and oakley-boothe in the latest england u17 squad. meanwhile, kirby's decision to leave us is going great as not only does he have no club but now he's not being picked for england either.
Apparently he is still with Palace but hasn't signed yet. He hasn't played for them since 19th September, so perhaps he is injured or maybe they won't play him until he signs.

He hasn't even made the bench for the England U17s since their game on 25th August (they have has 3 games since, 28th & 30th Sept and 3rd Oct), which makes me think he might be injured.

The palace youth twitter account thinks he isn't playing due to not being signed yet rather than injured.

Palace Youth‏@PalaceYouth
@adslinc I think you can only play in x number of games until you have to sign them. I'm sure he will be a Palace player though.

Edit: Ignore that, he is injured.

Working hard to get back from injury. Good luck to the lads in Romania #TogetherForEngland

Fair, though not all will agree, and no doubt some may actually be disgusted that someone would question Poch on this but I can of course see his point.

Clearly spursreport doesn't use SC as he hasn't found this 'tedious' but interesting good post

I think there are some good points here but do you think it is because we are fighting for CL or maybe the league that he might be a little more reluctant to play the youth players?

Maybe but then there will be an excuse every season. Next year it will be, depending on situation, we are challenging for top 4/title, so can't afford to play the. Always be a justifiable reason not to play them to the fans

It is a fair point and he seems to like Winks and Onomah which is positive. Do you think the spurs academy is declining then?

Where has Skipp been for these England squads recently?

No not really. Our production of top players is really good but we seem to be struggling at u18s for whatever reason.

You compare us to City and Chelsea. So last year at 16s we were excellent ready to have a team full of England internationals and it becomes disjointed through injury form and maybe confidence. They're not translating the u16s dominance to the u18s, Maybe because we mismatch players or maybe it is done on purpose like we have heard, either way we aren't playing as well as we were when the 96s/97s come through even though the current lot were better at u16s.

Compare to the other two clubs they move from u16s and continue beating teams at u18s. It's weird and hard to place finger on.

Like I said no concern over actual individual talent but individual progression isn't as well atm. The u18s are playing quite well this season, despite this post seeming to suggest otherwise just not what you would expect considering individual talent.

I assume rotation or other players are playing more regularly at a higher level atm.

Great for BLF, seen him noticeably a couple of times where he did look good, prob never really noticed him in other vids, but since his first selection he has been a regular and now made their competitive squad. In this age group it really is a great sign. I assume he is taking advantage of the fact the Medley is without a club, like Kirby and Ryan Sessegnon has been promoted. Though saying that there are still a lot of top defenders missing out like Wilson (reckon club are having a say), Lavinier, Guehi and Steven Sessegnon (though he may still be injured). Regardless this will be really developing him.

Fulltime: Tottenham U18s 1-1 Chelsea. Shashoua our scorer. Excellent game, both sides had chances to win, draw the fair result.

Yesterdays 18s game was a good game for a 1-1 draw and I think we had Jonathan de Bie to thank for that not that we did not deserve the point just that he was very good,it was the first time I have seen him play first impressions are good he kicks the ball very well and his quick throws out from the back are excellent,he is fast cumming off his line and looks a good shot stopper all in all he looks a good one but time will tell on that one.Marsh at CB I do not like but he done well, thought Hinds had a good game and is doing a good job so far this year,Griffiths was not that great and his hold up play was poor on the day.Shashoua was very good and was having a good battle with the Chelsea no 5 most of the game Tsaroulla had a solid game but did give away a pen that the Chelsea player put wide story of the day for Chelsea they missed 4 chances right in front of goal on the day but we could have won it late on with a rare appearance from Sterling who was put clear through one on one with the keeper and just completely ballsed it up.Our goal was a very good goal Dylan Duncan picked the ball up deep in his own half and just run run right through the middle of the pitch with a couple of one two passes on the way he put Shashoua through one on one with the keeper and he walked it round the keeper and finished well.Over the last few weeks have seen Dylan Duncan do some amazing things but one the same note he does some sloppy things as well I just cannot work out if he is good or not because he is very up and down.Got to the game early yesterday so watched a bit of the lads below the u16s must say like the look of Kane Patterson a ball playing defender and the young lad Ralph looks a player when he gets the ball no one on the opposing side want to go out to close him down a good sign of a top player plus he was giving his fullback a telling off for not defending properly so he has a bit about him.Not 100% sure but I think the u16s lost 1-0 but played well and was looking the better side towards the end of the match.

Thanks.

Do like the early look of Hinds, knows what he's doing.

As you say Duncan is an enigma when you watch him there is talent struggling to come out. As you say I think it's his sloppiness that let's him down. He has genuine ability technique, dribbling etc but hasn't harassed it.

Good news on De Bie too, I really want to see Freeman though as well.

Lastly re u16s. When you say Ralph, do you mean Rafferty Pedder (Raff) little Modric lookalike

Do city and Chelsea also strengthen at under 18s by buying players? Not saying it's an excuse but we do seem more loyal to our kids.

Maybe but they also get picked off quite a lot. In recent times they have lost Brewster to Liverpool, Kemp to West Ham, and now Medley has left, and I think I am missing some more.

So they will bring some in, similar to how we lose Kirby and bring in Velasco.

Sounds like a good result yesterday though, and shows we are capable of playing good stuff, if we focus. Tbh it's more the u19s letting us down this season, but we expected that with our weak 2nd year from last year being the main age group

If you use paragraphs it becomes a lot easier to read.

3 in 2 for nabil at schalke now, great to see him shutting up the haters, other than edwards i still maintain he's the most talented player to come through the academy and yes that includes kane. obviously there are other factors besides talent but all we've ever heard internally is how hard a trainer he is and how he just wants to win, to let him go so easily and for a pretty lousy fee(when you consider a far inferior player like sissoko cost us 30m) then it just seems reckless to me.

Shutting up the haters?! Everyone wanted him to succeed it just seems he didn't want to succeed with us, otherwise Poch wouldn't have dropped him and subsequently let him leave. He had plenty of opportunity but in someway didn't buy into the coaching methods it would seem.

yes, i think much of the spurs fanbase have had their pitchforks out for him ever since the whole contract thing and all of what you've said above is based on complete hearsay, no one knows what he did or didn't do and the itks on here just toe the poch line regardless of what the truth really is anyway. there were plenty on here taking pleasure in the bild article a few weeks ago claiming he's a wrong'un and performing poorly so yes, he is shutting the haters up and i hope he carries on doing so.
