IDK why @Waxman hasn't reposted the Marcus Edwards stuff yet, but for anyone looking for it, it was along the lines of this;

Not exactly what he said, but it was something similar to that if my memory serves me right.

Sorry, was watching the game, getting wet, and then took my boy to crazy golf, so just got home

As far as ITK is concerned, I'm nothing of the sort - so don't read anything into my comments re gamechanger etc

Reason I posted in the ITK thread was I was hoping to see players milling about or agents that I could have overheard saying something - but alas not much more than Roles/Tanganga aren't going to Exeter (according to Tanganga's dad - and I think he was kinda guessing re Roles)

However, for those that are interested in my views on the game:

As an overview, both teams talked/shouted constantly - it was great for my son to see/hear this, as you don't get to hear it at a PL game, and he's learning all the time...

I don't have time to give a write up on every single player, so will just mention those that stood out for good/bad reasons

Bad first:

Tracey is a very limited player, takes an age to decide what he's going to do with it, and to me, looked like a player without much in the way of natural talent

He was not the worst though. Lofts is one of the very worst players I've ever laid eyes on (and I've been going to Spurs since the 80's). He was lazy, poor first touch, no vision, and had a bad attitude IMO

There was some good though:

Oliver Skipp - drove the team forward, put challenges in, had composure and skill, and an eye for a pass. It wasn't until a scout who was stood next to me told me that he was 16 that I was really impressed. If he'd have been the same age as everyone else on the pitch I'd have been pleased, but to be that competitive/mature/strong, at such a young age, and not look like you're a kid playing with older men, was amazing. This boy is a talent

A couple of very talented West Ham players too - but I didn't pay too much attention to them...

I was 6'4 by the time I was 11 & my diet was basically sweets.

Genetics biggest factor, of course.

Most often dietary changes which lead to increases in height, have been shown repeatedly in studies to be due to increased protein.

However, of course, Pituitary/GSH/Skeletal stuff can cause large non-hereditary changes in height/growth.

how was edwards? general consensus seems to be that he was dangerous in spells but mostly quiet otherwise?

Every time he got the ball, they doubled up on him (which is something I assume will happen a lot for him given his reputation)...

He's got lovely feet, but I found his decision making average today

A couple of sublime twists and turns, but it's all for nothing if he doesn't release the ball early enough

Perhaps I'm being harsh on him - he was probably our second best player overall, but I wouldn't say he stood out on the pitch

This tallies with my general thoughts on Tracey, Loft and Skipp. I think Skipp is top 5 for potential in the Academy currently.

Interesting on Roles/Tanganga, as there's been rumours from both sides and I gathered talks were ongoing. Thanks for passing on!

Starting to get a little bit down re Edwards. His reviews seem to definitely gone a bit down hill. Most seem to say flashes of brilliance, but his all round game isn't up to it yet.Maybe a fitness issue, but you'd expect him to shine in games likes this.

No, it's not like that IMO

He was trying to feed Tracey & Loft today - the gulf in class is huge. A player in Edwards' position on the pitch looks better if he's feeding top quality players as opposed to lumps (sorry). He looks up and sees Tracey in a bad position and he decides against making that pass etc

I'm excited to see what he can do with the likes of Kane/Alli around him

I think this is very much a truism, and doesn't just apply to Edwards.

Also, it was his first start for a fair old while.

Said for a while Edwards will only show his true quality when he is surrounded by quality players.

The majority of players who shine at youth level are the athletic beasts who are stronger and more imposing than everyone else, technicality and intelligence is always looked over.

Who is this Patterson seems to me involved in a lot of our goals?
He is a very good player who can play in most positions across the midfield,he is small like Shashoua but he has a hell of a shot on him and he is very good from set pieces.

He is incredibly hard working for a gifted player but he will need the time to develop,he has a younger brother Kane who is a defender, he looks a good player a ball playing Defender.

He's quite a bit thicker set than Shashoua though, don't you think? Looks sturdier.

He has a lot of work to do. He is nowhere ready for first team main action. One of the lesser cups depending on opponent. Upto him now.
