Players always become x10 better when they don’t play. Lamela apparantly is our saviour. In 3 weeks it will be oh Lamela **** off. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. The point about Edwards for me is he can be mess like for 5 mins in game and nowhere for 85mins. But honestly I don’t care that’s just what we need off the bench in a Wembley stalemate. If it’s 0-0 on 70 mins Vs stoke and I need something special from the bench I want Edwards there. Yeah he might fall flat on his face, but he’s more than likely to fall flat on his face in penalty area and get us a penalty. If he then does a dab and plays Skepta really loud I don’t care tbh.
Tbh I can see where people are coming from with the obsession with Marcus Edwards thing. He's been built up into something that so far he hasn't proven to be. It's one thing having the talent he has, but it's all for nothing if he can't show the right attitude and dedication to see it through.
I find the tendency on here to blame it on Poch really annoying especially when he made a big push last season to bring Edwards into the first team, let's remember he spent nearly all of last season training with the first team and now he's taken a massive step backwards because so far this season he's not training with the first team at all.
He's gone from shadowing the first team in the same way Winks did before he made the step up, to being nowhere near the first team at all. For me that can only be on Edwards and somewhere something has gone wrong. I'm sure Pochettino is the most disappointed out of anyone with the situation.
I know we're all disappointed but shouldn't be too surprising, when he's even getting dropped for u23 games here and there.
Is he injured?it's a bit presumptive to say that any games he misses are because he was dropped.

If it's a training thing with Edwards, then holy hell. Sissoko must be Pele, Maradona, Ginola, and Gazza all wrapped into one in training. Because when it comes to the games, he barely even qualifies as a footballer. Other than that, I refuse to believe anyone that is apparently close to breaking through wouldnt be better than him.Has to be training performance/attitude.

Because talent is two-a-penny, work rate is special. Work rate wins matches and puts bums on seats. Jesus, Billy Nick must be spinning in his grave. We’re an effort team now, fuck the glory. In pochettinos book he praises Edwards on his talents but hints he needs to work at his work rate and attitude
Hard-work personified the push and run style that made the club famous. Talent doesn't get you very far without the hard-work.Because talent is two-a-penny, work rate is special. Don't you think it's a bit presumtive for various youth watchers I've seen on here and twitter to push a narrative that Poch is holding Edwards back rather than Edwards holding himself back?
