spanish 3rd div is equivalent to our league 1(though i'm sure some will argue otherwise) so it's about right, i don't think he'd command a champ loan at this point as he's had a pretty stop/start past year or two and still has some physical development to go through. spanish football probably suits him better and the article says he speaks the language so that helps, only disappointment from a fan pov is it won't be so easy to follow his progress.

Spanish 3rd division is x4 Leagues with x20 teams it’s very diluted and I’d say conference level with lots of amateurs and crowds of 1 or 2k. It’s nowhere near league 1 standard.

Yeah I wouldn't agree with that comparison with League 1.

Probably more money in League 1 than the lower leagues of Spain even though half of League 1 are in financial trouble. Just the way the money filters down - at least you'll get some games on TV. Whereas we know the Spanish top flight TV money is monopolized by two clubs so the lower you go the less money you see.

Flipside is I presume a lot of clubs have fan-ownership models and local investment so your club maintains its community feel and the fans are the custodians whereas our lower leagues in England are being treated with disdain by greed.

Sadly its not, our league 1 is still a professional league, spanish 3 division is weird, it has 80 teams split in groups of 20 and its pretty much full of youth players, former professionals and semi pro players

Its a weird league there is quality better in the league than league 1 due to the highly rated youth players but there are also players that are at conference level. the top Teams from this division have to qualify for their copa del rey

He's likely to grow as a person though, it will have an impact on his development. New thing for us to send someone there, let's see how it goes.

Is that really the best loan we could find?!
I believe it’s another lad that has fallen out of favour in wayne Burnetts world . It’s more than likely shashoua decision rather then the clubs . To endure another season with Burnetts idea of how to play football and to watch real talent fall by the wayside whilst we promote dead wood was probably all too much for our young startlet.

I think they've looked at Shashoua and noticed what any of us could have noticed which is that he's small and slight and lacks the express pace to compensate for it. A loan to the lower leagues in this country where everyone is massive would be pointless because the ball would just go sailing over his head. I like lower league football, a lot, but its not an environment for a cultured little trequartista like Shashoua. In Spain he'll be playing against grown men but grown men playing football. If it was this or another twelve months hanging around the U23's I guess the move looked a no brainer.

Burnett appointment is very weird tbh. Played his whole career at a very low level. As a manager did ok job at Dagenham for 2 season, then got sacked. Am I missing something on his CV that entitles him to be coaching our U23 ? The way the U18 are going I could see Wells taking over in the near future.

He's been with us since June last year in a coaching capacity...would imagine he's a very good manager. Dagenham were/are broke, he did a good job there IMO.

Something isn’t right. Wayne Burnett might have something to do with it. My cousin played under him at Dagenham and Redbridge and was staggered when Spurs employed him to work with Youth

He took them midtable 2 seasons and won 1 in 15 the season he got sacked. It has to be jobs for the boys, he must know someone. There must be dozens out there with better CVs that would love that job.
