Basically, I'll be pleased if we sign anybody at all.
As long as they aren't dog shit second rate has beens.
Just watching the Arsenal, Stoke game and that Carzorla looks like he is going to be a good player for the rear Gunners.
What I don't understand is that Spurs never really seem to pick up on these type of players. I.e. good, but not prohibitively expensive.
Newcastle seem to be very good at getting these types as well. Cabaye etc.
We don't need to spend massive amounts on getting in quality players that will do the job for now and for seasons to come.
I feel our horizons need to be broadened a bit to take advantage of that.
Levy seems intent on bringing in names and lets be honest, unrealistic and unattainable targets in my opinion. Why don't we ever seem to go for those players that are maybe a few mill less that seem to shine in other prem teams and would do in ours.
Lastly the fact that we still have Gallas, Jenas, Friedel, in the first team is a worry for me.
I'm not in panic mode just yet, I believe AVB can do a good job, but if we sign no more players in this window, it's on Levy. 100%
As it has been stated lots of times before now, Spurs' transfer strategy seems to backfire season after season. Yes we have added two new players this season, not counting Adebayor, who still doesn't convince me if I'm honest. I struggle to warm to him. Like I just expect him at some point to become a rebel again and stop putting in.
But if those two are it, and we sell Modric, we are royally knackered IMO.
I'd happily take Dembele, Willian, etc over these ridiculous marquee signing attempts that end up backfiring all the time.
I'd like to see GDS given more of a chance as well. Same with Caulker. Gio in particular has proven himself internationally a few times now.
I'd sooner he'd be given a chance, than bloody Jenas.
I'd also give Gomes a second go. His distro and composure lacked at times, but surely that's stuff that can be worked on?? WTF actually goes on in training there sometimes?!?
