i think Wingers (bar the Exceptional) will begin to fade from the game at the highest level, for wide players more like Malbranque, Hleb, Rosicky, Benayoun, the more creative types that will not remain in a fixed position if they can better effect the play.

And If Bale/Gilberto and Hutton/Gunter can provide crosses on the overlap then a leftie in midfield is not vital. we got fifth without a leftie didn't we :shrug:
You know, everyone has Modric as the player slotting in behind the striker if we play a 4-3-2-1, but Dos Santos is more of a second striker than a winger. I'd rather play Modric out wide and Santos in behind the striker.
