Haha not at all, I know the drill, I've just never thought it works that well.

Well I don't think it works that well either but what can we do, the club has a way of doing things and it won't change unless there is a change of owners.

It won't be closed at all unless we're willing to do that. If we want to get the player then two things need to happen: we need to act soon, and we need to pay what is required.

That is not really what the art of negotiation is about

This will likely be negotiated in last week of the window if he is not sold by then.

Let's not fool ourselves.... and end up with some unknown as alternative.

Are Monaco going to sell him after Silva and with Bakayoko and Mendy about to be on the move too? I mean they are hardly going to be struggling financially.

Any slim chance we have will all evaporate when they sell 2or 3 of their starters, we will hang about like a bad smell all summer hoping for crumbs but will end up with fuck all, it's a pipe dream as we don't pay the transfer fee or wages to get this one done and that's assuming he would come?

Can we not just sign the players that Monaco are going to sign to replace these guys with?

Monaco are a selling club.

I could be wrong about this but it appears from the outside that their m.o. is to hoover up young talents, loan them out, incorporate the top performers into their first team, sell them off for huge profits, and then replace them with the next young talent.

They've reportedly got some shit-hot wonderkid pacy winger who would slot right in for Lemar. I doubt they'd pass up a £40m+ fee for a player that they bought for €4m just a couple years ago simply because they had sold some others as well.

Lets buy the shit-hot wonder kid then

Yeah I can't see them selling Lemar let alone for a fee we could afford.
We can afford it. With the increased TV money, Champions League football guaranteed and impending player sales, we can bring in players like this.
It's just Levy refusing to let us compete...

It's still way to early for us regarding transfers I'm not expecting the first signing until early mid July.

we should be buying out their entire scouting system

Wouldn't make a difference. It seems we're more interested in buying young French wingers rather than actually playing them.
