Totally out of the game yet again today, ive no idea whats gone on with him over the last few months.

Looks as if hes doing a lot of sulking on the pitch.

I'd rather bentley started ahead of him now,at least you might get something out of DB,Lennons a non entity lately.

Or am i seeing something your not ?

Sadly,I think you are seeing what the rest of us, including 'Arry, are seeing...he's gone form ourmost valuable player to almost a non-entity in 8 months:cry:

I thought he was turning the corner actually. Slow start to the season (following a not-very-great World Cup) and completely changed the game against Villa. Been good in Europe too. Got overshadowed by Bale in the Inter game, but he was a casualty of a horrific team first half performance today. Not necessarily his own.

He'll be fine. And be back terrorising again, no doubt.

I think Lennon just needs to get his match fitness back. And his confidence.

He played well against Inter at The Lane didn't he?

I hope so. I've been saying he was rushed back and just getting his fitness back for quite some time.

One possible consideration isthat before hisinjury everything was being channeled to him, whereas since he came back the midfield is more likely to look left, or to Dad Basher. Just a thought.

This. Remember my fellow Yids, we've written off a few pretty good players in the past just see Bale and Kaboul if you need evidence of that. He should take the backseat for a while, and regain his confidence.

Also, he plays better in a 4-4-2 with Defoe in the team.

I'm not sure if he was fully fit today. But have faith, he was showing his best against Inter Milan just before he got injured again. He will become good again.

Completely. Lennon's low balls in for Defoe - then we'll definitely be back in the goals.

Although 9 in the last 3 games ain't bad.

I think his link up play with Defoe is key. But I thought he was excellent vs Inter as well.

Give him time.

He was turning a corner, but 4-5-1 doesn't suit out and out wingers. They need outlets in the box, and more space than they get. with 5 in midfield they have one man to aim at and they are stuck on the touchline.

In a 4-4-2 nothing wrong with a bit of Azza.

Did you not notice the way Fabio C***lo treated Lennon in the Summer?

FFS, that shit would have destroyed any player's confidence. All Azza needs is game time and plenty of encouragement.

Capello's a ****, and we should be suing him for fucking up one of our best players. Can you imagine if Lennon was at his best, with Baaaaaale on the other wing. We'd be frickin unstoppable. Well, we would if we had a striker anyway.

Capello treated him poorly in the world cup, and his belief seems to have taken a knock.

He is afraid to really run at his full back. He's a bit slow to work out what he wants to do with the ball. He needs to return to being direct, getting into the final third and then deciding whether to hit the byline or cut inside.

He's also not helped by Bale's form. Bale works a lot better when more is needed from your winger - goals and assists - and the fact Bale will drift into the middle, as for his goal today, gives him an added feather to his bow.

If/When Harry rests Bale and uses Kranjcar on the left, I think we will see more from Lennon.

Personally, I don't believe any of Lennon's lack of form is to do with Capello, recovering from injuries or lack of match fitness etc. In my opinion he may simply be suffering from the success he has had at a relatively young age having gone to his head and having been used to being the "star" of the team and the one everyone talks about he has now seen others take his mantle and perhaps feels demotivated by it. In other words his lack of form is all in his head.

Obviously, what none of us see on a daily basis is how he is in training. How is interactions are with other teams members. How his work ethic is eg is he strolling through training or is he giving 110% effort? Harry and his Coaches do see this. They also see a player who despite some improvement since his debut, in all honesty hasn't really kicked on and who at 23 is already at the time when there should be no doubts about his abilities. Sure, on his day, he is probably one of the most effective wide players there is but top top players rarely have off days and although it's a cliche, consistency really is the key.

Let me state, I like Lennon for those days when he proves he is an effective outlet and creator of goals and I hope that he can get past this "problem" he currently has.
