Much better Azza. One day both Bale and Lennon will start together on top form. I don't care which team we're playing when that happens. Could be Barcelona for all I care. They'll frighten the shit out of them.

Ridiculous comment, Bentley has barely played this season but when he has he's done ok for us.

He doesn't have great pace but he does have good ability on the ball and should definitely be in contention for a place on the right especially if VDV plays off of JD.
I just don't think Bentley fits in with the spurs team. Our team is built on pass and move, moving the ball quickly and pace. Bentley cannot play this way and always looks out of place when he plays.
I think he would do well at a number of other clubs, but just not right for us at this moment in time.

Totally out of the game yet again today, ive no idea whats gone on with him over the last few months.

Looks as if hes doing a lot of sulking on the pitch.

I'd rather bentley started ahead of him now,at least you might get something out of DB,Lennons a non entity lately.

Or am i seeing something your not ?

Whats happened to this site, been away for a bit and for the second time tonight....

Loving the Lennon recovery. White Hart Lane is going to be fertilized down the flanks with the faeces of opposition wing backs. Great times ahead, chaps!

I can't wait for that, and I agree that it will happen.

But in the meantime, we need to have options. IMO, Lennon should start most games. But if we're chasing a win with half an hour to go, getting snuffed out on the left, and Azza's not having any joy on the right, then what are those options?

1) Bentley. Who knows which one will show up though.
2) VDV. We need him in the middle though.
3) Niko (please no. I think he's a fantastic player, but he's always been shit played on the right)

Or.....

4) Hutton.

I honestly think that Hutton might make a better RM than a RB. His defensive game has really improved, but it's still not great. He's undoubtedly a threat going forward though. He cuts inside beautifully, he can cross well, he can beat people with the ball at his feet, and he's got a decent shot on him.

What's more, it might be a kick up the arse for Lennon. I severely doubt he feels his position is threatened much by the presence of DB in the squad. If Hutton starts tearing up turf in his position, Azza might find a bit of his passion again.

I said yesterday morning I have a feeling Lennon will play well, and that Modric can control the game =)

Relly pleased for Lennon, we actually used him more this game than we have in previous games. We just need to find a balance with using Bale and Lennon, loved it when Bale kept coming over to give it to Hutton/Lennon, if I was their LB I would've ran off the pitch rather than face a combo of Lennon and Bale.

hutton and lennon linked up well for the first time in last nights game, lennons got to learn to move more off the ball, he still hasnt progressed in this.

Much better from Lennon last night, but I still wouldn't play him away from home in the last 16 CL match against a decent side. He got plenty of the ball last night, but when he is not getting the service he isn't moving intelligently enough to get into the game, and I would rather we shore up the midfield to make sure we are more compact.

You know I am tired of comments about players taking front seats, back seats or whatever the fuck seats.

What is good about the squad at the moment is that no player is undroppable, not even VDV. Whena player is out or off form we have others players in the side still putting in great effort, and that's a quality Spurs have lacked for decades. It's great to see.

I think he needs Corluka back behind him for a start. But he did well enough last night, was one of our best players in what was a walk in the park performance. I think the urgency to get the ball to Bale now has taken from his game somewhat, so we need to mix it up better and get him on the ball quicker. By the time he gets the ball, a lot of the time he is surrounded by 2 or 3 players. We need to move the ball quicker at times and stretch teams. I also think having Defoe back will help stretch defender aswell.

I'd like to see more through balls for him aswell. He gets a lot of balls to feet where he has a couple of defenders doubling up on him. The through ball from Hutton in the first half needs to happen more often. He was able to get beyond the fullback with pace and pull back for Pav, who should've scored.

Some good replies.

Still dosent change the facy he looks so disinterested, flying down the wing and cutting inside every single time,it looks to me hes not looking to get his crosses over, maybe its a lack of confidence and he dosent want to get stick for poor crosses.

Something is definatly wrong with him,i still think he needs to be dropped, hes done it with charlie, why not Lennon ?

Charlie is shit , thats the difference !!!

Lennon's problems (excluding injury) are confidence and the rise of G.Bale, post match interviews on sky (incidentally Gallas is well worth listening to) apparently Sir Les told him he'd score and also put money on him to score, Aaron knows he needs to get more goals but didn't believe he would score.

Also IMO since Gareth has been drawing the plaudits (quite rightly) the players have changed plan A which was "give it to Lennon" he got injured then plan A was "aim it at Crouch" and now seems to be "Give it to Bale" even when Aaron has been in loads of space and screaming for the ball (it happened against Werder and today) for some bizarre reason players still shift it to Bale even when he's got 3 players hanging off him, maybe i'm reading too much into it and it's coincidence or he's been caught peeing in the tea urn (i'd bet it would piss her right off atleast )

I blame the Bale chant and the players subconscious because they all seem to forget the wee man who's been quietly adding a few bits to his game like those clipped crosses over the defence that Bale volleyed in against Stoke, he was great mid-week against Werder (I think he was MOM with Modders TBH) I think a little treat like a MOM award will see his performances go up and up.

If a chance arises maybe during a cup game or because of injuries and squad rotation (less we burn out like Villa did a year ago) to give him a free role behind a front two or lone striker with a less attacking RB I think his game will improve all-round he'll trust his left foot more and trust himself to shoot more.

Then again maybe the above is why i'm no football manager :silenced:
