I cant believe how 'pregnant' this transfer window is appearing to become ! ! ! But I love it!

Alderweireld sounds like it would be a good transfer to me.

We already have some really good CBs and even if some think he would be 4th choice that would be OK with me as out starting XI wouldn't be filled with loads of new signings who haven't fully got to know each other or the teams/league/grounds yet (I would be worried signing too many players and playing them all at once could have a negative effect on the team). Although saying that he may have to play the first few games as Vertonghen and Kaboul might not be fit.

Plus we already have 3 Belgian internationals who can help him settle in quickly (well Vertonghen and Dembélé can as Chadli is most likely still settling in).

He has played for a big team in some big games so he has some experience.

Language also won't be an issue as he seems to speak good English.

Plus with his contract ending in a year or so he shouldn't cost a huge amount meaning we can use money saved on getting a CB and spending the space cash on another transfer.

This signing would just about wrap up any defensive issues, especially with today's confirmation of Capuoe.

Will leave us in a veryyyyyy comfortable position for the remainder of the window, and allow us to look for some solid deals in the positions we can afford to enforce (LB, maybe another striker or winger to take pressure off soldado, bale, and chadli).

Alderweireld, Willian, and some LB cover would be pretty much as good as it gets for us.

Gonna be one hell of a season boys...if bale stays, and isn't disgruntled, I can see us easily making a run for top 2/top 3, and really putting the pressure on Chelsea, and mainly Man City..considering the amount they have spent, they are the one's with something to prove. I just don't see them doing shit with all those huge egos at the club, considering they have barely offloaded anyone to support the new signings. Man U is gonna get 3rd or 4th, Moyes reluctance in the market is going to undoubtedly translate into his confidence on the pitch.

Title race between Spurs and Chelsea, fuckin' COYS BOYS!

He'll have a lot of work to do to be of the necessary quality as a first-choice CB, but he's definitely got talent. His technique needs work but most of it can be fixed. My biggest concerns would mimic my biggest concerns with Caulker: a lack of awareness at times.

Definitely avalid concern, but i don't believe it will be as bad, considering he's been a regular 1st team player at ajax, while caulker was always a youth talent/backup for us. Not saying the dutch league is anything close, but given the amount of young talents they develop consistently, there are definitely alot of technically gifted attackers, so any team that consistently wins has to be doing something right in defense.

I think we'll get our moneys worth from good ol' Toby in a season or two, once he becomes comfortable in england, and when him and vertonghen are comfortable at the same club. that belgian duo could form into the best partnership in the premier league, considering the age of the Man U towers, as well as Chelsea's current lack of a consistent partner for luiz

If Toby is adequate cover at RB it could let us unload Naughton as well, with an extra 3-4m going into the Lamela fund (y)

All gone a bit quiet over the weekend with this one. Is Toby's old man fishing around for Spartak and us to put bids in still?

I really think that judging by General Franco's good work this summer, if this lad was the answer he'd be ours by now especially considering our need to add depth at the back

I can't see a deal happening here. I think we will go with Dawson, Kaboul and Vertonghen, with Capoue and Fryers covering until January.
