we would be mad to sell carroll imo. stark raving mad. bentaleb/mason/stambouli/carroll would be the truth. but with dembele playing further forward where he's looked more dangerous.

I want Carroll to stay with us, I think he would do very well in this current set up and save us some money.

He deserves one last chance. This time last year Mason was a joke and look at him now.

Imagine this front 6...

Bentaleb
Mason Carroll
Townsend Kane Pritchard

£5mill would be cheap, although fellow England U21 player Jonjo Shelvey joined Swansea for £5million. I think Carrol is worth more, at least in terms of add ons and sale on clauses.

I'd like to keep him, he looked a bit stronger/faster/bigger in that Tranmere game, but just could be the level of opposition, however I think he might be sold simply because we have so many options in central midfield and some have to go. Unfortunately Carroll has more suitors than Capoue and Paulinho

My 90 year old grandmother has more suitors than Capoue and Paulinho.

I watched the game today and was impressed to be honest

For the first 30 mins he was poor but then after that he did very well, constantly moving the ball with one touch passes or two touches.

He was getting frustrated, he was moving the ball expecting the player to pivot of him but the return never came and neither did the movement. Also he moved the ball fast only for it to be slowed down by the receiver. He also got frustrated at the fact he wasn't getting the ball all the time despite seeing alot of it.

He played better than britton and did alright defensively clearing the ball several times from the box.

He should of done better with his crosses from the right, which were poor.

Swansea don't really play how the youth team did(moving the ball fast, making runs and playing off him).

I can understand why people are frustrated with him, expecting the eye of the needle balls from him. He does do that but because he doesnt try that most of the time people don't think he is good enough but he moves the ball forward alot and very well. He is a better playing push and run rather than constantly finding the great final ball.

Modric didn't exactly have that great final ball all the time, hence his assists being low but he moved the play to dangerous areas.

Hopefully he is going to get a run of games and find some form

I agree. I started streaming on about 40 minutes, and thought he was very good- assured and composed.

He makes some very intelligent runs and seems to be playing with more energy when pressing forward too. He lasted the 90 mins quite comfortably, making some good defensive contributions in the last few minutes. Perhaps these are signs that he is physically maturing and getting stronger...

Swansea forum:

*Tom Carroll was the best outfield player on the pitch for us today!

*agreed - with gomis close behind

TC v much a "swansea player" - plays with his head up, always looking and thinking ahead

Yeah I watched most of the game and it was a decent display after a slow start. Looked fine at this level, always on the move and looking to pass and move. There are times when he plays too safe and confidence is an issue with him, but he is going well it seems.

Watched the game, the more he plays the better he'll get. Thought he was superb in the job he had for the team today. More passes than anyone else, 109 with 90% accuracy. Played 2 key passes. Moved the ball quickly, technically very good with one and two touches. Like Bentaleb he picks the ball up from the CB's and distributes it very well. Of course there is room for improvement but its funny how Swansea played Carroll and Britton against a team known for its physicality in West Ham and, i would say, played better than our 2 CM's did against Crystal Palace.

Sounds silly but i like the way he passes right, so many of our players play the ball behind or in front of the receiver so they have to check their runs or overstretch causing bad touches, more often than not Carroll gets it into feet.

The games today had a lot of similarities West Ham, Like Palace sat back for large parts of the game, we didnt really have anyone to make passes like this.

If it were up to me id have him back in our squad tomorrow.

These kind of passes rely on good movement, and this kid can pick a pass. I've seen a few from him like this and better than this; through players. I wonder why sometimes people dont see it with him. We just need to ask ourselves, who in our squad can play that same pass above? ....not many and hardly any.
