I'm not 100%, but I've been told Berbatov and Keane played a half each.

Just got a text about the game from Spurs Mobile. Seems like a nice way kick-off our friendlies this pre-season.

This was only the first half score and apparently it's still going and live on Setanta 1.

Edit: Not sure if the aboe is true or not. It was posted on FTL but OS says the game finished 8-0 I think.

Great start, glad to see Dos Santos on the scoresheet. Hopefully we will see a match report in the training diary.

You have been misinformed. I have just flicked onto Setanta and it is not on there. I am sure the game is finished. It is being reported as such on the official site.

Giovani dos Santos marked his first appearance in a Spurs shirt with two goals as we beat local side Tavernes 8-0 in a training ground friendly in Spain on Monday night.
The forward looked lively as he bagged both his goals in the second half of our first friendly this pre-season.
Playing with different line-ups in each half, Aaron Lennon headed us into a half-time lead before the goals flowed in the second half - dos Santos was joined on the scoresheet by Jamie O'Hara and Tomas Pekhart, who also both scored twice and Steed Malbranque. That brace marked Pekhart's first goals for the senior team.
Full report and how the goals went in to follow, plus the post-match thoughts of first team coach Gus Poyet...

Really wierd but do I see Chimbonda there, I thought he'd gone off on one of his temper tantrums?

Are Tavernes a school team?

Nice to see Dos Santos making an impact nice and early as well as Pekhart getting amongst the goals.

I think the fact that Lenny scored the opener with a header gives us some idea of the quality we faced!
Still, it was only a training game as they say and sounded like a nice little work-out.
I'm liking this whole Spanish training camp malarky this year.

Gus: Ideal start

Gus Poyet described our 8-0 win against Tavernes as 'the ideal start' to pre-season friendly action.
Tavernes - who play in the Divisiones Regional de Futbol in Spain - provided stubborn opposition initially and we only had Aaron Lennon's bullet header to show for our first half dominance.
That dominance turned into goals in the second period as Giovani dos Santos marked his first game in a Spurs shirt with two, Tomas Pekhart bagged his first and second senior goals for the club, Jamie O'Hara also weighed in with two and Steed Malbranque completed the scoring.
"The players had 45 minutes each, we've no injuries and it was a good win - that's good new for everyone," reflected First Team coach Gus.
"It's always tough to score the first goal in these games, the opposition is always very determined, but we showed good movement throughout and eventually it became easier.
"The attitude pleased me the most - the lads took it seriously and that's what we asked for.
"It was about playing football again and fitness and when you play local teams like this and start scoring goals you can relax but that wasn't the case. We drove on looking for more."
Meanwhile, Gus responded to speculation in Sunday's media linking him with an assistant's role at Manchester United. "It's nothing," he stated. "It was a surprise to read it.
"I want to stay at Spurs, I want to stay with this manager, this group of players and this club because I'm very happy.
"When you are in England and you are lucky enough to be with one of the big teams you are always going to get speculation. It happens, that's football - I've been around long enough to ignore it!"

Still no line ups yet, 1 goal in the first half, so who ever was on in the second half must have impressed just abit!

Also the bit about Gus and Man u is a good reas, especialy after all the Man u and Berabtov talk
