Exactly the team I thought he'd play.

Lets try and get the job done as early as we can and get the likes of Kane off.

So only changes are Trippier, Davies and Mason for Walker, Rose and Dembele. I would have also gone Onomah and/or Carroll for Alli/Dier and/or Eriksen.

Really pleased he gave Dembele a rest. He's going to be instrumental on Sunday for us IMO. We need him in full beastly mode to hold on to the ball higher up the pitch for us.

Great move by Poch.

Had Townsend not done what he had I think Lamela would of been rested as well.

What a great option to have Son coming off the bench again.

Really hope this one's over as a contest come 60-70mins but I highly doubt it - hopefully our 'spine' comes through unscathed and not heavily fatigued.

Bit harsh for Dembele.

I totally disagree, I take that as a compliment. saving him for the gooner game.

had townsend not thrown toys from pram, I'd expect poch would have liked to rest lamela as well... andros really made a poor choice IMHO :pompous::mask::singing:

COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice, strong line up (y)

If anyone needed to be rested, it's dembele, we know how early injured he can be. Others are younger, fitter and can recover quicker for playing midweek IMO

I agree on Onomah, but Carroll has only just returned from injury.

Well, Poch has gone strong, so, fair play, let's get the win!
I hope we tie things up early enough to rest Kane etc... For Sunday, but whenever we've needed that in the past we've made a bloody meal of an easy EL game and Anderlecht are not easy.

Bit harsh for Dembele.
Dembele is probably one of our players who has a lower level of fitness. Don't think he can manage two games a week. He can't even seem to manage 90 minutes.

Warm yet drizzly, greasy pitch, Anderlrcht fans here in numbers. Expecting a good atmosphere here.

Trippier still has a lot to prove IMO, so let's see a strong performance from him tonight -- COYS!!!

Except every time we go strong we don't have a great performance
No Wimmer again (in the team)

Winks must be injured.
Not really, Carroll and Dembele are ahead of him in the pecking order whereas Onomah plays further forward. also Both winks and wimmer were training fine yesterday with the squad

BTW - I do enjoy this euphoria over Son's return,... he's only on the bench FFS, yet we have dancing in the streets over it :playful::joyful::love:

let's see him get 30+ minutes tonight and a goal to warm up for that gooner tilt on sunday!!

Good team on the whole ....
Walker
Rose
Dembele and Son back on Sunday
for Trippier, Davies, Mason and Lamela

managing to rest 4 key players is pretty good
