Skipp was the promised one. He was supposed to be the next great midfield academy product after so many false dawns in the shape of Carroll, Mason and Winks. He may actually be the worst of the lot.
I'm just wondering whether we've taken stock of where his overall fitness is and utilising him in a role that is a little less all-action. He was almost cooked by HT against Bournemouth and we may well want him to get to 75 mins tonight.I agree with this. Bentancur can create and score when more advanced. His press also was pretty effective.
Skipp. Offers nothing.
He needs to get close to the ball for that to happenSkipp could atleast do me a solid and get booked for my bet builder.
So what is everyone's opinion on Oliver Skipp?
Think we'd be better off at the moment with Winks instead of Skipp to be honest. And that's not to slag Skipp off. But we could use Winks passing as an option.tbf I think Winks had something about him and looked like he should have been the chosen one (and not using that Madrid game as a cliche, I mean before that when he was breaking through even; he looked like he had “it”), but he regressed like Skipp has done over past couple of seasons.
I think Mason was decent but not quite good enough, and I never rated big Tomothy Carroll. Those Luka Modric comparisons still make me recoil in cringe.
He'd need to be playing in this game to have a proper opinion. So what is everyone's opinion on Oliver Skipp?
Don’t think Skippy has been that bad, he’s just not quite at the same level as Lo Celso and Bentancur.
Or even a player…He needs to get close to ball for that to happen
