I don't even feel like we're playing that poor but the final ball just hasn't been correct/there.

Skipp was the promised one. He was supposed to be the next great midfield academy product after so many false dawns in the shape of Carroll, Mason and Winks. He may actually be the worst of the lot.

tbf I think Winks had something about him and looked like he should have been the chosen one (and not using that Madrid game as a cliche, I mean before that when he was breaking through even; he looked like he had “it”), but he regressed like Skipp has done over past couple of seasons.

I think Mason was decent but not quite good enough, and I never rated big Tomothy Carroll. Those Luka Modric comparisons still make me recoil in cringe.

Boring first half. No real tactic other than to try and pass the ball into the goal.

Kulu and Johnson completely ineffective and Richy not really pulling defenders with him.

Hard watch that 1st half - makes a change though

Ange won’t be happy with that

Is Skipp playing?

Now I like Ian Wright but why are ITV showing old clips of him with a cameraman falling over?

Are they so short of content?!

I was cooking during that first half so tuned in and out. It seemed as though we kept getting in down the left side in pretty promising positions but lacked the clinical edge?

I think we’re going to suffer heavily from Sonny’s absence as the other guys just don’t have that instinct. We really need another striker… Scarlett?

I agree with this. Bentancur can create and score when more advanced. His press also was pretty effective.
I'm just wondering whether we've taken stock of where his overall fitness is and utilising him in a role that is a little less all-action. He was almost cooked by HT against Bournemouth and we may well want him to get to 75 mins tonight.

Skipp. Offers nothing.

I think we misuse him out of necessity.

Surging runs and quick incisive passes in the opponents final 1/3 is not what he is strong at.

We should use him deeper but because of injury and general depth we keep putting him out in spots that don't play to his strengths.

When wide players cut in, they go for the far post, which works a lot for Son. Kane would cut in tho, and go low towards near post, basically cutting across the ball to go the other way. I don’t why others don’t do this. It’s a pretty good tactic!

I feel for Skipp, he’s probably best as a sitting defensive MF but in this team his deficiencies are highlighted even more, he’s not very mobile, not very skillful, not very creative and doesn’t offer a goal threat and like Dier it’s not really his fault he looks so poor for us.

Think we'd be better off at the moment with Winks instead of Skipp to be honest. And that's not to slag Skipp off. But we could use Winks passing as an option.

I’d swap Kulu and Johnson for the first 15 mins. Both need to cut onto their other foot which is making delivery a little bit predictable.
