We used to play on Sundays

Only a home win will do with a few goals to the GD good please.

This is going to be a tougher game than many think. They are an obdurate, organised team who carry a bit of break threat. The type of opponent we often end up banging our heads against in frustration.

Never helped by an impatient WHL.

How the fuck are we getting back to being negative?!

Fuck sake have some faith.

I don't think its being negative but expecting any premier league team to roll over and get thrashed is a bit arrogant. Let's not forget that we have struggled infront of goal most of the season.

Anyway I'm still optimistic but it won't be as easy as some think IMO.

No, it's sheer pessimism.

I'm feeling optimistic about this one. I'm starting to get to a stage where I'm just happy to win any match against any team in the league because it's so competitive week in week out but I think we'll win this one after a tough match against an organised team. I rate some of their players, especially Danny Ings and he's the type of forward that could cause our defence problems but I think we'll have too match quality for them

It's coming up to half way now and the cream is beginning to rise to the top. We have great players. The players that a lot here moan about would be only dreamt about by most of the teams in the EPL. Selecting the right players and picking the right tactics are what it is all about now. We should not fear Burnley at home.

Expect a tough game but Burnley don't have many goals in them but they certainly work hard out of possession.

Need to see a high tempo and get out the blocks quickly and on the front foot, it sets the tone.

I'll go 2-0, but not a comfortable 2-0.

Need to start at a fast clip and put them under a lot of pressure from the outset. Don't let them settle. If we can score in the first 20, then we'll probably knock the stuffing out of them. I get the feeling we're going to have a good game tomorrow. You can see the confidence starting to build in the team. They've got some good results recently, under tricky circumstances. The pressure isn't very high and the players are looking like they care and have a stronger will to win. I'm going with a 3-1 home win.

Team selection huge. Play players on form. Stambouli and chadli in for mason and lamela, only changes from Swansea game.

Great banner Chris. I notice Mason is now on 4 bookings. Does the count still restart in the new year ?

Also on 4, for Burnley, is a certain Dean Marney. He was Spurs through and through but it wasn't to be

I really hope our players don't think like our fans and think we will just steam roll Burnley. Everytime we get cocky we lose. Lets just keep it professional and level headed and hope the players put in a proper shift tomorrow.

The Mrs is going to this one with her brother and dad, hopefully it's a good game for them.

Holy shit, you're putting Bentaleb in your first team :) glad you've finally seen sense ;-)

Would be tempted to go with the same front four as Newcastle, I can see the merits of bringing in Solado or Lamela for freshness but Townsend injected some much need pace in the fron four and I think Chadli offers a goal threat.

Would play Mason over Stambo as, IMO, we don't need a holding MF in a game like this where we should have 60%+ possession.

An early goal and I think we could get a few. Just hope he fans stick with the team if we struggle in the first 30 mins.

Ideal game for Mason and Bentaleb to play together and continue to build their partnership.
