Laziness? He was actually in the right back position and Chris Wood is quick.
You having a laugh mate?

He turned his back on Chris Wood and completely lost track of Wood's run which allowed him to get in behind. He was a few feet in front of Toby aswell so he wasn't in the right position for an offside trap either.

It was just sheer laziness or incompetence for that goal. Probably a bit of both.

An issue I had with Davies and Trips is, they are both too reserved in both attack and defense. Capable deputy for me personally, but for fuck sake, attack with intent, and defend for your lives! What's their holding back and timidity?!

If they're not good enough to sort this shit out then perhaps we should be looking for new players anyway.
I'm not sure that this team looks like it has a trophy in it, been thinking that for a while.

I suspect the players will begin thinking this too. If they're not already.

The sad thing is that, even if we get Aurier we will have problems. The squad is not good enough. Look at our bench today. We have no players that can change a game. Sanchez will probably be a good signing. But then? Winks, Sissoko, Janssen are the midfield/attacking options. Sure, we have some players injured. But it's not like Nkodou will save us. He's not even good enough for West Ham. When Kane, Eriksen och Alli has a bad day, we have no players to throw in. The squad balance and squad depth is laughable.

If we get Aurier & Barkley and when Wanyama, Lamela and Rose are back, the first eleven and the bench would be much stronger.

I can see how Woods kept Kane out of the Leicester team. Much better player, missed a trick *jerks knee*

If Barkley comes Dele will see some pine. And i will be one glad fan then. He needs to improve his all-around game. The fact that balls sent to him in the hole repeatedly come straight back is annoying. His flopping is annoying. His inability to execute a simple pass is annoying. He has tricks and bits that border on the sublime but they are built on a foundation lacking some of the most basic footballing skills. God what I wouldn't do to see Draxler in his position, or anyone else with an all-around game.
His game would improve 20+% if he played simple balls. He just has to be extra.

What's the point of keeping Janssen?

He only ever gets a few minutes here or there - either when we're cruising to victory and so have taken the foot off the pedal, or when we've run out of ideas and go long in the last moments.

The former doesn't give him the chance to make a mark, the latter is a job a big center back usually does.

OK what do you think the problem is?

There's no point in me typing out my opinion as Vincent's post sums it up better than I could so I'll quote his post.

Calm down dear.

It clearly is an issue when we have lost 10 and won 2 over the last 12 games and only the Chelsea semi final performance actually being a time we looked like we could actually play our usual game.

You can't just say, oh its the same size as other pitches we play at, because this is WEMBLEY, every team is loving coming here and getting the chance to play here. Some teams never get that opportunity, this coupled with the larger pitch which seems to negate our press is definitely a factor.

At away games on bigger pitches, the home team is also less likely to be super compact the whole game. So your comments completely flawed.

As much as lots of our players are being ripped apart, Alli and and particularly Kane missed the chances to win us the game.

Davies & Trippier are nowhere near as good as Walker and Rose.

Everybody knows that, but thats not why we drew. If you keep missing chance after chance after chance, and clear cut chances rather than half-chances, you will get punished.....almost always.

How many times have we seen it? Feels like I've been watching the same Spurs game for 35 f****g years.

Absolutely, for me Lamela is a massive miss, he is creative like Eriksen but presses and fights from the front and always turns up in big games, he also will make sure Dele, Son and Eriksen have to fight for their place.

Rose offers proper pace and aggression and in defence and attack.

We really need the power and pace of Aurier and Barkley like Lamela will boost our attacking options.

I think we have enough to go close but have yet to prove we have the mentality or the talent to go that one extra step.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while but I do believe if we made a few signings we have the talent here to do it, we need a big player though and someone with real experience of winning a trophy in the side.

Champions? I'd take fourth right now.

It's gonna be a long season.

Still, at least our next game at Wembley is a nice easy one against Dortmund :D.
And European teams are much better tactically drilled than their English counterparts. We get our pants pulled down by teams full of plumbers and postmen in Europe.
