You can blame the defence all you want, but our goal came from a lucky deflection and last week an own goal.

Though their keeper played well, we created very little and when we did our finishing was woeful.

Why is Janssen at the club? I can't figure that out.

Agreed. Even if we did get the 2nd goal, the performance was far from encouraging. Slow, one dimensional, predictable, lacking of energy etc. The passing was poor, Eriksen, Son and Alli looked under par, Kane was misfiring and we weren't getting anything great in an offensive sense from Dier, Dembele, Tripper or Davies.

The sad thing is that, even if we get Aurier we will have problems. The squad is not good enough. Look at our bench today. We have no players that can change a game. Sanchez will probably be a good signing. But then? Winks, Sissoko, Janssen are the midfield/attacking options. Sure, we have some players injured. But it's not like Nkodou will save us. He's not even good enough for West Ham. When Kane, Eriksen och Alli has a bad day, we have no players to throw in. The squad balance and squad depth is laughable.

Sad thing is, after Sissoko came on I could see this happening, instantly the game changed and Burnley got on the front foot, terrible sub.
You really need to stop posting or in your infamous words take a long look at yourself in the mirror because you very clearly know sweet FA about football.

We actually created alot more clear cut chances during that period.

Sorry but can't blame mousa scapegoat this time

Defensively we were poor, him and Trippier were covering that left side, that's where Burnley were going, they knew it was a weakness, you could see their goal coming, it wasn't a fluke.

We are 1-0 up, Winks should have been the first sub on, we should have shored up the centre of the pitch and had a more defensive player covering that side.

Away at Everton next and we look completely bereft of confidence somehow. 5 points behind united in only 3 games and perennial problem of Kane not scoring in August. It doesn't matter what Poch says we have a problem at Wembley. Our record there vs at WHL tells us that. Very frustrating...

Goal aside, what did Alli do today. Looks off the pace, almost disinterested, even his goal celebration was flat. Team in general looks a little rusty, the usual intensity is missing.
Kane is trying too hard to end this August hoodoo thing, needs to get his head up quicker.
Trippier went awol late on and left us wide open. Walker-Peters should have been used, fresh legs.
Sissoko is beyond poor with the football at his feet.
Poch's subs are too obvious, needed to show something different. We're dominating posession and chances, but can't score, and we bring on Sissoko? Why not bring Janssen on, get someone closer to Kane for support, ask questions on Burnley's defence.

The basics are still there, but we need some freshening up. 2-3 new players as a minimum, and not many days to do it. Aurier to as some dynamism from fullback/wingback, plus someone to add to our front three with some pace and spark.

Caught some highlights of the Liverpool game, their front three look lively and incisive, the way ours did back end of last season, but currently don't.

I'm not comparing it to other stadiums, pal. I'm comparing it to WHL. It's a big difference between those two grounds.

I agree with you, it's got nothing to do with dimensions, Wembley is a shit stadium, shit atmosphere and the away teams are always up for a game there, it's a major handicap for us

Bollocks! The Wembley pitch is no longer than most of the other away pitches in the EPL where we have done well. This Wembley argument or excuse is so over played.

Calm down dear.

It clearly is an issue when we have lost 10 and won 2 over the last 12 games and only the Chelsea semi final performance actually being a time we looked like we could actually play our usual game.

You can't just say, oh its the same size as other pitches we play at, because this is WEMBLEY, every team is loving coming here and getting the chance to play here. Some teams never get that opportunity, this coupled with the larger pitch which seems to negate our press is definitely a factor.

At away games on bigger pitches, the home team is also less likely to be super compact the whole game. So your comments completely flawed.

We have 7 subs.baring injury how many of them 7 had a realistic chance of getting on the pitch? Certainly not tob. Kanes leg would need to be hanging off for Janssen to play more than stoppage time.burnley used the subs to change the game and freshen up a tiring side.poch could learn alot from watching others ingame as he is very predictable and negative.for me subs cost us both today and last week.dont think sissoko did anything wrong today but same as last week we lost control of the game.let it open up.

Levy is going to have to pull a rabbit out the hat, we can't just keep buying defenders, we need attacking options to help us be more clinical.

We need something other then Ross Barkley because it could be too late by the time he's back from injury

I was hoping Janssen to come on to draw some fouls from opponents and wind down the clock.. Poch did that last season and it was mature from him..

Today, tbh, Poch was abit stubborn and rebellious sending Winks and/or subbing Eriksen when Janssen should come on or Kane off.. Fate turned and bit him..

I've literally not once said the dimensions have anything to do with our performances. I'm just saying there is a big difference between the two pitches. Jesus christ.

I'm not even sure it's Wembley, every single season under Poch we start off like a stodgy two day old bowl of porridge, and end up like a steam train in Dec/Jan/Feb. It's surely not a coincidence.

Well, I'd offer some reasoning, but folks don't want to hear that Pochs methods leave them exhausted early season...

Where are the Tripper defenders now? He's a huge liability who's only positive attribute is his ability to cross.

Almost hit agree, but disagree with his crossing, I think it's overrated in here. Average if you ask me.

Bit this rose/walker situation is really starting to cost us. Not the same team with trippier and davies. And it's not a dig at them- they are great oprtions from the bench, and rotation wise- but we have build our strenght with pace on the flanks, with wingbacks coming forward and outnumber their defence. For now we're a shadow of ourselves.

But on another night, we would easily slipped two or three more behind them.
Just one of those days:(
