Mourinho annoys you because he picks winning sides? Spurs should have such an annoying manager.
Yeah because I like to enjoy watching football and I hate the drama he brings with it. He makes it about him, when it should be a spectacle for skill and great winning sides. None of mourinhos sides have been "great winning sides" and there has always been drama that overcasts the good things his team's do. Whilst football is about winning and I'd love to have success, I want it to be done in style.

Good effort, but the first goal left us with no margin for error thereafter. The first goal today was as weak, maybe worse, from us as the two in Florence. Absolutely unbelievable. 4 or 5 defenders in a line with a free header with no Chelsea player anywhere near them and they manage to mess it up. Doesn't anyone talk? Then we get the bad luck such defending frankly deserves: Zouma punches the ball back to terry who hits it in with a wicked deflection.

There's been too many dreadful errors in recent weeks again.

I'm disappointed as Spurs lost a cup final but I thought we did well overall, and we were the better team first half, without testing Cech as much as we could have.

However, we absolutely gifted them the first goal and were open for the second because of it. We would have been much more compact that early in the second half had we not shot ourselves in the foot just before half time.

I cannot get over the stupidity and needlessness of that first goal, and I haven't even started to think about the free kick that led to it or the timing of it yet.

It should make us stronger and seeing 5 academy players represent Spurs in a major cup final was wonderful. We remain a team with real potential but much can happen in between. Keeping 3-4 key players is as important as who we bring in this summer.

Up the Spurs and down with bloodied (allegedly, naturally) global super criminals and their cheating, clogging mercenaries and racist and glory hunting no-mark "supporters".

Okay I'm 'king gutted.

It will all be on the cheap.

I am not having a dig at pooch or anyone other than Levy here. I think he will screw them, like he has screwed everyone else.
I'm kind of split down the middle with what you've been saying dude. Trouble is, our "cheap" players are our best ones. Our expensive purchases are largely the problem.

I wrote last week that give an experienced manager like Sam Allardyce a week to prepare for a game and his side would cause problems. They did and we were lucky to get a point.

Jose Mourinho had a full week to prepare for this game and there is no better coach in football in such situations. I predicted his tactics and wasn't far off unfortunately. He went out to win rather than to entertain. His mind games all week were productive but at times I feel he brings the game into disrepute.

He is he best coach I have ever seen work, but have no desire to see him at White Hart Lane. He and that club are made for each other.

For me today's loss compounds a miserable week for MP and the club. He badly miscalculated in the two games v Fiorentina when both games were there to be won.

The Swansea game will be a real test of how mentally strong we are as a team. It will be a real test for MP's reign and how the players respond to the last two defeats.

At the end of the day we really need a squad that can play when we get the opportunity, defend when we have to and be big enough and strong enough to score from set pieces.

I've been a big defender of him and badly wanted him to succeed but he's been absolutely terrible, proper pony.

And a lot of it is just basics of what you would expect from an Argentinian flair player, dribbling, touch etc yes I know he has 8 goals this season but only 1 in the league.

Anyway he's not why we lost today it just adds to the frustration of the money we wasted. Basically 5 of the 7 players bought last summer have been flops and a club like ours can't afford to make mistakes like that and expect to be successful.

Even looking at the benches today while they had Drogba, Remy, Oscar and Cuadrado, I didn't feel we had anyone that could come off the bench and help us change the game if we needed it.
I agree. Even his first touch and dribbling, supposedly his strengths are not good enough. The number of times he runs into people and loses the ball is ridiculous. He never looks particularly quick either. The same applies to Townsend but at least he didn't costs £30m and we will make a profit with him.

You are right, he is not the reason we lost today but when you spend that much on a player they need to be your match winners, to make the difference against average teams and to unlock the best defences. A rebona and a goal against Burnely is an exceptionally poor return in the context of things. It won't (and possibly can't) happen but I'd much rather see what Pritchard has got at this level than Lamela or Townsend.

Chelsea players were queueing up to foul Rose. Bentaleb, Harry and Walker were our other good players.
Chadli will let you down more than he helps you. I feel sorry for Andros. MoPo has knocked the stuffing out of him. He was like a robot following instructions.

That sentence has more to do with Andros not being versatile enough to work in Poch's system, rather than having the stuffing knocked out of him. Andros has pace, and not a lot else. He looks devoid of ideas, and certainly does not offer any sort of confidence when tracking his man. It amazes me more that Poch still perseveres with him. Simply put he is not good enough to play the system that Poch demands from him. Andros started out well for sure, but he became a very easy player to read, and thus an easy one to take out of the game.

simply put it goes like this. run with ball down the flank, cut inside, shoot over or lose the ball. Wash, rinse & repeat...Odd occasion good game.

****s win again. What a horrible world we live in. We need to be more streetwise as I'm sure we're the only team in the league who doesn't know how to cheat and dive.

Good job the only Chav fan in the office has been off otherwise I'd probably lose my shit tomorrow. I fucking despise them.

Well, I'm not that disappointed since after Arsenal, we've shown to be mental lightweights still.

Would've been a monumental achievement to have beaten Chelsea. It did look like we played better against them than against Liverpool, Fiorentina, West Ham and Fiorentina though. In the end, it's a run of 2 draws and 3 losses whereas Liverpool, in that same period, have beaten us, Besiktas, Southampton and Manchester City. Yes. they're out of the EL but on penalties. They afford us no excuse for our poor record after EL and for me, it's down to mentality more than anything.

For anyone who wants to not participate in the EL, the more competitions we're in the better. This is especially because if the time comes we ever have to make the step up to CL, or European competition again, we'll always have a squad big and consistent enough, or at least that's what we are trying to achieve. Let it be said once more, enough of the "Fuck EL, GO CL" brigade because at the end of the day, to sum us up, even under Poch and two massive home derby wins, we still had piss poor mid-table runs after both matches.

We really do need more revamping of the squad again. Young and hungry with a bit of experience for me. Next year, if our core is, hopefully, still is Lloris/Kane/Eriksen/Bentaleb and we do good business, we'll have a shout at a trophy again and perhaps be better position to take it. The rest of the squad are good enough for now or growing into their roles and though not all can be rid off at once, a lot of them should be saying their goodbyes.

The past couple weeks' results has drained me of my support and hence, if I can stay away until the window opens, I will. The team can hopefully, in my absence, learn what it is to be a big team and how every match is important- something that I don't believe is there in the side. I am in no more mood for false dawns. Perhaps we're winning the war right now in those terms, but a lot of battles are still being lost in quite deplorable fashions.

Hopefully we will consolidate and move on instead of petering out even more than we already have. I don't even have any more energy to muster to be rude about those who need to leave. Thank you for your service Adebayor, Kaboul, Capoue, Ceballos, Friedel, Lennon, Soldado and Paulinho. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours away from the Premier League. A lot of the rest are playing for their future since besides the foursome I have listed, none have been so convincing to remain first choice and unchallenged. I include Vertonghen in this because after motioning to leave before, and now having possibly nothing to play for, who knows how his already historied attitude will change. Unlike Lloris who seems to want to stay and is happy, Vertonghen seems like he might take flight if the right club comes in. To be frank, he actually isn't as good as we make him out to be, and how he may think he is and I don't know which top club would really splash out to simply equal or marginally better their CBs. Although he is not as prone to making a suicidal error as Chiriches, Walker, Rose and Fazio, he has had his fair share of avoidable blunders. I think he's at his level and he should stay, but it's up to him.

I hope we win the rest of our fixtures. Our past tells me otherwise. Take care and we'll be back next year.

money not only buys you quality it buys you consistency, Jose is a master squad builder and its something we havn't got right in the last few seasons, these last few weeks have shown up our lack of depth, not just skill wise but guys that can be trusted.
Hopefully when Poch gets a decent number of players he trusts we can rotate more efficiently and his decision making will get better too, as he will have players that fit more naturally into his system.
A dose of thinking outside the box would have helped at times this season but second half chelsea were in full machine mode.

We didnt dip our toe in the transfer waters when we should have all about saving money.

Off you go to West London then, we enjoy good football at The Lane and pride ourselves on trying to bring that onto the pitch.
Your quote is exactly why I hate Mourinho, win at all costs but forget about what the club breeds..

Unfortunately I was filled with false hope before the game. The 2008 final and the game on New Year's Day gave me a belief we COULD win.
In reality it was what I would consider a routine Chelsea win. They respected Kane and set up as a well drilled solid defensive unit, and backed themselves to be able to create enough chances at the other end.
Ivanovic really is their best player. The guy is a machine. He was influential again today. He bought the free kick for their first goal and was there at the end to clear Soldado's low cross.
The referee wasn't ever going to do us any favours today. He had a consistent game no complaints of bias from me, but he bought everything the players were selling, and killed any hopes of a high tempo aggressive pressing game we wanted to play. (The exact opposite to New Years fixture where the referee allowed our hussltling)

Lloris, Verts, Dier, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Kane.

Those are the only players in the team today who can take us to the next level. We need to add some serious quality in the summer if we are going to step up.

Verts would not make that list IMO the guy can't deal with pace the way hazard went past him in the 2nd half was laughable, it's like he has lead in his boots sometimes
