Gfy I made earlier, I didn't post it until post-match as it was too large to upload and stream on the same pc :)

It's real time goal + celebration, alternate angles, and the bench's reaction of Soldado's goal.

Watching the bench react is interesting, I didn't really look at it until now. It looks like Paulinho was super excited, whereas Kaboul doesn't seem to give a shit.

Strewth, you have good eyesight. I watched it 4 times and I couldn't see Kaboul at all!

It looks like Kaboul stood up and clapped at the end of shot of the bench, but he certainly didn't react like Paulinho/Vorm/coaching staff.

Vlad scares the shit out of me whenever he's in the vicinity of the ball, other than that i enjoyed the game, pleased to see quicker tempo, a team performance, two strikers at home is bliss and i'm genuinely happy for Bobado and also thanks for the great support those who went to the game, getting behind the pressing play you could see it encouraging our players.

Chelsea are a different bucket of frogspawn, some important games coming up and a real chance to gain a bit of ground over the Jebus period too.

I am so proud of Spurs performance yesterday . Still buzzing. What makes its sweet is the 3 academy players in XI who were cornerstone of success.
Add to this the youth on display in entirety. Our oldest was Soldado at 29 & youngest at 20.

Well every now and then you have to change the rules for a player who gives nothing but negative vibes back. As soon as he finished that successful loan season he was a problem, with his drawn out demands and late signing to not being fit at the end of it all and poor form, poor effort, falling out with coaches, coming back late from ACN, more poor form and moodiness, all the while collecting 100k a week?

And now his ma has him cursed? Enough is enough. I forgive the original poster but even if Ade is clinically depressed (for which he would get my sympathies) and finds a cure he should not be in our dressing room ever again. Very very bad signing at the end of the day and many on here called it at the time.
You had me convinced up until 'very, very bad signing'. I think when you take into account the excellent spells Ade has had, then overall 'disappointing' would be a fairer assessment. Bentley, for example, was a very very bad signing.

I think they both were. 100 k a week and I honestly think he's been a liability to the team in more than half the games he's played.

Why not? Enough people said it about our last manager, and say it about the chairman. Players are just as open to the same type of comment.
Call me old fashioned, but I found 'get the fuck out' to be a crass phrase. You might be right that Ade has become a bad influence on the club and we'd be better off without him; but your language was wrong. I suspect it is self-defeating too; some of the team's poor performances are (at least in part) caused by the appalling aggressive language regularly directed at spurs players by so-called spurs fans on match days.

Chelsea are obviously going to be clear favourites. But I wouldn't abandon all hope just yet. I wasn't as surprised by today's performance as some - I had just come off another thread where I made a post to the effect that Pochettino isn't just flopping at implementing his methods. He is having to adjust to a totally different set of assumptions and a totally different set of problems. At Southampton it would have been quite unusual for teams to shut up shop. With us, for a long time now (perhaps ever since we biatched Wigan 9 - 1), the majority of clubs have treated us more as a team to shut up shop against, play for a draw, and hope for a break-away goal. Mr Redknapp had to cope with that - and didn't always. AVB tried and failed.

Today, we were playing a confident team coming off the back of a good run and good result, who are our direct rivals. I expected them to come out and play, and they did. Poch's default tactics are well suited to that. Against Chelsea, we will be facing the league leaders and they are at home. If we get a good performance but lose it won't be the end of the World. I think we can do that. And maybe...

Anyway, I would pretty much go with the same team, I think. Harsh on players like Chadli - but I don't think anyone really deserves to be dropped based on today's perfromance. Unless, maybe, Walker is ready to return.

Inc. the Everton game we have 3 games in 7 days. My concern is not a fear of Chelsea but a pragmatic working of the squad to ensure we dont end up reverting the leaden legged home team playing the half pace shit we are trying to leave behind when Palace rock up.

Playing Chadli, Dembele, even Ade, Capoue and co at Chelsea makes sense to me. No lose scenario, arguably our supposed experienced big name players with something to prove. We cant pick yesaterdays side for each of these games and expect this level of effort and performance.

It would be interesting to know the stats on this, but I see where you're coming from. He's certainly not my favourite spurs player.

I was thinking about this last night. The average age of our starting XI was 24.4 and our finishing XI 23.2.

Did anyone else think Bentaleb has got a bigger? Cut quite an imposing figure.

He looks like he`s picked up a yard of pace too, as does Kane, or maybe Everton are just really slow lol! I`ve been critical of Bentaleb in the past, him and Mason were fantastic yesterday, it has to be the blueprint for our midfield now.

It's like a fuse was lit under our team yesterday and they were suddenly, wonderfully on fire.

Plenty of pace, good passing and understanding between players and real determination and the will to win. Long may this now continue.

I got a "disagree" rep for my criticism of Vlad but, for me, he was our weakest link and made a lot of errors. This doesn't mean that he doesn't have talent and potential but it needs a lot of work. He could be a very strong and valuable player given time. I would put him on the bench and give him playing time in as many games as warrant it while developing his skills in training.

There are those saying Everton were sluggish, but actually I saw a team that were always dangerous on the break and were tough opposition so imo we had an excellent result yesterday. We broke them down, something we've had difficulty doing with the opposition for some time.

Our best PL game of the season so far.

I've not been convinced myself but I thought there was real promise in him yesterday. I was looking at Bentaleb yesterday and thinking he's getting bigger, he looked like a 6'2'' player yesterday if his Wiki is correct.

On another note I have never been too worried if players are naturally quick or strong it's something that can be worked on with the right training. Intelligence is more valuable as a natural trait.

One thing I hope the players take away from yesterday's game is the effect a little effort (or a lot, in yesterday's case) on their part can have on the crowd.

Even when we went 0-1 down yesterday the crowd were right behind the players - partly I think because they liked the selection, but also because for that first 15 minutes we were working hard and didn't deserve to go behind.

The noise for Soldado's goal was the loudest I've heard the Lane since Bale left, and the support for the whole of the second half, particularly the tight last 10-15 minutes, was immense.

I just hope this leads to a bit more harmony between the players and supporters - we want to support you, and if you show us you care even half as much as we do, we'll be behind you no matter the result.

Kaboul has a huge ego and it is very, very sore. He's been shown up.

He's hating life right now.

Totally made up for Soldado. I roared when that went in despite it being on MOTD2!

It was so good seeing us playing direct again, Kane and Lennon were driving us forward. I don't think anyone would disagree when I say that Kane was superb yesterday. That is exactly the sort of directness, attitude and work rate we want... coupled with that end product.

We rode our luck again in the closing stages, a better and more ruthless team than Everton (such as Chelsea for example) would have exposed us. We still stand off far too much for me, full backs need to close down quicker, and the midfield needs to cover. Fazio and Keracheese ( :woot: ) are still a liability waiting to happen.

But a corner feels like its being turned with that result, Pochettino weeding out the weak links and what works for this squad it would seem. I'm particularly pleased with Lennon's attitude after all those rumblings of discontent, and its good to see Bentaleb back in the side. And lets pray that this is the excorsising of demons for Soldado and he goes on a spree now. Nothing would please me more than us solving our striking issues without having to spend big. Particularly when for me defensive players should be focus in the transfer window. Because other than Lloris and Vertonghen I have very little faith in the rest of our defence.
