Expected Liverpool team I'd imagine:

Mignolet; Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno; Lucas Milner; Lallana Ings Coutinho; Sturridge

Thats a shit line up imo, we are better than that

Back 5 is shocking together. AM3 is good but hasn't looked good together and the only one to fear is strurridge who has been inconsistent recently

Agree, especially regarding their defense - which has been all over the place this season. Klopp will surely have them re-energized but I can't see how he'll have addressed their defensive problems in such a short space of time with an International break to contend with as well.

To put it simply, we're in a better position to cope with their attacking threat than they are with ours - even with Kane not in the hottest of form.

I'm hoping this is the game Kane can notch a few goals and get the flow back into his game, given their defensive problems.

The biggest question surrounding Liverpool is not the proposed line up but what game plan they will adopt - be it, throwing caution to the wind and having plenty of men forward when opportunities present themselves or a more measured and tactical affair.

I should imagine it will be a fairly fast and frenetic start so we don't need to look at winning this in the first 20-30 mins here and whilst we should still have the impetus as the home team, I think this one will hinge on the second half and tactics/substitutions employed by both managers in a game that is close to call.

I think either way we are going to lose out to the media here. Either:

1) They somehow get a result on us and it's the start of the Klopp era, and all attention goes to them.

2) We beat them, but it's Klopps first game, they need time, so no crediting spurs for a performance.

Gutted we have no Dier for this game, he has been a rock in the middle of the pitch. Mason i hope should then be coming in as he likes a good scrap and gets in with tackles and interceptions.

A few over confident people here, but Liverpool have had our number for a few years now. They scored 15 goals in a row until we scored once.

Dier will be a big miss, Walker gives me no confidence and Kane isn't scoring. Yet to see Lloris play well against them too. I hope I'm wrong but I see Liverpool turning us over.

Quite happy to slip under the radar for a bit longer. Worst thing that could happen for us with a young team is to get hyped up and find big clubs sniffing around our players and expectations going through the roof.

I think we'll beat them. We've had a whole season getting used to Poch's high press and are starting to execute it more efficiently whereas they'll be leaving spaces behind each other as they try too hard to impress Klopp in their first game. Think we'll capitalise on a few loose balls from defence to midfield and win it 2-0.

Or...

3) They come at us, playing into our hands, and we pick them off and hammer them ala City! Then the headlines will be 'Klopp's Kop Flops' or 'Klopp's Plop' or 'Poch Plop's on Klopp Parade'

Ok maybe not...

I like option 2 the most, Stay under the radar as long as possible

They will get a big new manager bounce and all the players will be fighting for a place. It's pretty unfortunate but at least we are at home.

If you look at the last couple of seasons where they beat us it was mainly due to Suarez and Sterling. We couldnt handle Sterlings pace and it opened us up time and again.. im not worried in the slightest for this game, well, only slightly due to new manager syndrome, but theyve looked really poor this season so far

With Liverpool pumped after appointing a new manager and us missing our midfield destroyer I think this will be quite an open game - i'm predicting 2-2.

Agreed but if we get a poor performance from spurs but "lucky spurs win", least we can gloat . a Liverpool result will be hell.

Just like it used to be for me, 2-1 home win.

Yes they'll be re-energized but I just think that will suit us. Its the slow tempo stuff that never usually suits us.

I fancy Kane to get up and truly running here. a brace for him - and Sturridge for them.
