This is the first full game I've seen this season and was completely shocked by how bad Eriksen was. Alli wasn't great but got more involved as the game progressed. Impressed by Rose's drive. Wanyama was decent, as was Vorm. But we do need something more inventive in the middle. Mane was a real threat for them; we need something similar if we're serious about competing on all fronts.

I prefer Wimmer over Verts, I always worry when Verts traps the ball and tries to turn, players close him quickly as there's a chance of stealing it

It's the frustrated midfielder in him coming out!

My issue with Verts is his complete lack of physicality and pace. Toby isn't exactly huge or quick but he's a much smarter defender than Jan. he never ever puts teammates in trouble and always does the safest thing.

That's because there were so many misplaced passes!!!
I know, but a little encouragement would have helped! Certain players seem to be targeted more from the crowd for it than others when everyone was guilty of it. The ground went dead quiet after we equalised as well.

Agree.. As much as I love Verts. Wimmer fills me with more confidence the last 12 months or so.

Ref had a shocker.

Vorm MOTM.

We're crying out for a bit of pace and some who can turn with the ball.
Agree, a pacey wide man and new no10 with a bit of flair.

I'm starting to lose patience with Eriksen now, yes he's good on his best form but right now he's doing sweet FA. He's not even zipping his passes about, its all slow layoffs. Him and his agent must be on a wind up asking for 150k a week.

Good game for the neutral. We still seem to lack a cutting edge and not fully cohesive but it will come. Can we get a Gazza?

Why would this shock you?

We need to sharpen up a lot. Disjointed and wasnt a great performance. We let Liverpool bully us for large parts. Certainly need more pace to stretch teams down the wings, i can see why we are looking at certain players. Erikson looked miles off the pace as well. He needs a rocket up his ass!

Not sure why Poch uses Onomah in wide positions, why not just use someone who's actually a winger? I'd have liked to have seen Onomah or Winks played alongside Wanyama when Dier moved to right back.

We need real alternatives to Eriksen and Alli. Eriksen has had all summer off, full pre season, and is after a new contract, why is he playing so shit and not even putting in much effort. He's always the nearly man when it comes to tackling.

What was Sturridge saying to Rose (hand over mouth) at the end? Answers on a postcard please...

What's Souness smoking? Everything was Rose's fault? erm no, Eriksen and Alli gave him no cover.

Happy for Vorm, and really glad we have him in the squad. Top

Faultless performance from Vorm, showing what a good keeper he is when not relegated to the odd cup appearance. We're extremely lucky to have such a solid reserve keeper and it constantly amazes me how people on here don't rate him.

100% agree, the only reason we've got him is because of questions over one of his knees lasting a full season but as a reserve 'keeper that's not an issue.

Given Liverpool should have been down to 10 in the first half/at very least early in the second I don't think a point is particularly unfair. We're definitely feeling a bit of a summer hangover still though, most of the team look lethargic and it's limiting our ability to create chances.

And also, wtf were we doing in those last 2 mins? How did we get in a position to be almost 2 on 1? That was very amateur
