The trouble is the squad needs a massive overhaul - more personality and character, more experience at the top level, more specialisation etc.
But the last thing we need is the usual massive squad disruption. It's one of the factors that's got us into the shitbox we're in now.
Very difficult situation to get out of this one. We're probably better off generally sticking rather than twisting. Try and grab one or two experienced characters in January, give the players a kick up the arse. Premier League experience would be preferable by far. In the summer, the same, plus a couple of specialised players. Fed up with all these utility guys that can't hold down one position. Get rid of some of the faceless robots and spineless cheque-cashers.
Don't believe any of those things will happen for one minute.
Completely agree on these two points I've highlighted, especially the first one. Whilst one or two utilty players is useful, I think too many just muddies the waters in terms of systems/formations and as a result we lack a real defined playing style where players know their roles...and excel in them. It also hinders other players or promising young players coming through who specialise in an actual position.
