Uninspiring tonight. Yes we won, but it may not be enough to play like this in the away leg.

Blades stayed organized and packed it in in the back. We really should have done more with our possession surely.

Not our best performance and we should have done more, but I'll take a 1-0 first leg at home in a two-legged tie every single time. Upmost importance to avoid those away goals.

If anything perhaps we will be on our toes next week. Went to Burnley 5 years ago leading 4 - 1 from the first leg and were seconds from losing it. A win and a clean sheet. But granted, in terms of performance and spectacle - that was dire!

However they could take their chances with set pieces whilst remaining hard to beat. That's why a 2+ goal difference would have been ideal

True dat bruv, true dat. Nothing a little discipline in the spurs half won;t spoil for them.

The two big problems, were us being complacent in possession at the back and getting the ball stolen off us, or passing it straight to them.

The other problem, is the players off the ball are too static in attack. We pass it from wing to wing every game, and we never get a goal in the box out of it.

The goal came from being more direct and chipping it straight into Soldado. Poch has to coach us to be more dangerous in possession.

complete dogshite of a performance. you could see that the players were not up for it like they should have been. cheering when they heard we would play them and playing vs them like we would just roll over them.

The reason Kane is the only striker who looks like scoring is because he's the only one who takes a ball in at his feet and turns towards goal looking to get a shot off. Soldado's GOT to be more aggressive and greedy when he receives the ball on the edge of the area.

One word sums up that performance. Frustrating.

Ponderous in possession, poor touch all over the pitch, indecision and the usual brain farts from the usual suspects.

All in all made for an annoying watch.

nah its about intelligent players like rs9 dragging defenders away to create space for others thus stretching the defence. opposed to ade clogging up the lanes, making pointless 1 touch passes and not making the off ball runs

Adebayor isn't some YTS player. He has torn us apart a few times as an opposition player and been a good goalscorer for us too in the past so no reason to be quite so disparaging. He isn't the type to run in behind, he is just a different sort, he prefers to collect deep and hold up, feed it wide and get in the box for a cross.

Poor performance...but they'll have to come at us a lot more now, and we're always stronger away from home.

Dembele a must for me in the midfield next week - he's better in away games.

Obviously Kane and Eriksen have to play in their natural positions next week.

Maybe Lamela will be involved to.
