This is what i want to happen, not what i think will happen:
Out:
Zokopops (sry hasnt really delivered what is demanded of him)
Ekotto (too much liability and now we have Bale with lee as backup, easy cash me thinks)
Tainio (not the fighter we need im afraid and not much else to offer...makes room for a fresh face)
Rocha (we definately need one world class defender back there while Daws and Kaboul is learning and Rocha out would leave that gap)
Routledge (put him out of his misery..plz)
In (that we my have a chance to get...):
Requielme (would be a dream....I think he is the best midfielder in the world if we can get rid of his attitude problems)
Arteta (one of the leagues best players, but not good enough for a regular start in the top 4.....take him)
Arshavin (get him NOW..will be Barcelona-bound in 6 months if not..)
Vagner Love (the leftsided player we need....he plays in cold Russia and wont whine about the weather in England either...)
Panzer Hagen (one of the worlds toughest defenders also plays in russia...on a free this jan and experienced enough to kick some ass in England)
I agree, he's looked top class in both the games against England. His team mate at Zenit, Tymoschuk is also excellent and would be great for our CM, but he'd cost at least 15 million euros and is 27.
I don't think that is a bad thing. About time we got some class players that are at the top of their games.
does make me wonder why so many people are so keen to get rid of Teemu - he doesn't command a massive wage, he's happy to warm the bench and play pretty much anywhere across the middle if asked. He's a committed player who tackles non-stop and can hit the target once in a while. If i could find any fault with him right now it'd be his stamina, as he can't last more than 70 minutes before he's blowing out of his arse, and he does appear to have a bit of an injury jinx right now, but that can be said for pretty much every player on our side recently.
If Ramos' new coaching regime and nutritionalists can indeed work the magic we hope of them and get our squad fit enough to play a full 90 minutes, without burning out and conceding in the dying seconds, then doesn't it make you think maybe these injuries will become less common as fitness levels improve too?
Personally i see Teemu as being with us for a very long time and, if what i hope comes to pass and he does become fitter and tougher for the change of coaching, with the effort he puts in naturally, he could really be a superb player.
Agree 100,000,000%.
Appiah isn't the man. At the worldcup Appiah cpt of ghana, wore the no.10. in the first half of the Czech game everything went through him. Essien took a back seat. before they new it Ghana were 2-0 down and looked a shambles. There was a moment you could see in the second half where Essien went "fuck this for a game of soliders" and metophorically brushed Appiah aside and took over the ghanain team. everything then went through Essien and Ghana, although still lost the Czech game, finished the better side. Then the next two group games, ran by Essien, Ghana were excellent and Appiah a relative passenger. Essien was then suspended for the 1st knock out round, Appiah resumed control and Ghana limped out.
I think most people would say Appiah had a very good WC, but what the majority think often means jack shit, so you could be right. I was impressed with him and Ghana in general. According to Appiah himself, he came close to joining Arsenal as a result. Also Ghana beat the Czech Republic 2-0. And to be fair, i think "limped out" is a bit harsh. They lost to Brazil and still had more of the possession. Without their star player and with a man sent off, I don't think they did too badly against the favourites. They are only Ghana!
I think it's exactly what we need, but he'll go to Man City or somwhere like that. I just watched Ukraine v France and the guys positional sense is as good as Makelele's. He must have made 70+ passes and hardly broke sweat. He's just constantly in the right place at the right time. SGE will probably replace Hamman with him.
I've decided, N'zogbia, no matter how unlikely and how expensive, is worth an ask. I know you might as well double the value of a player when moving between prem teams, but if we're prepared to pay the kind of numbers we did for Bent, then that at least deserves a cheeky £8m bid and even if they shove it up, i'd go to £10m, possibly even £12m.
I don't like talking in them numbers, but we have to face facts here - in the current climate, if we want to get the best players, we have to pay the highest prices.
I'd be a shit businessman, but i'd have such a great time blowing all that money
He will be 29 in March though
Because he is average personified. Aim a little higher RSS.
Nice lad but totally mediocre.
But that won't bother the likes of Man City etc. Also, players in his positon seem to be able to play at a high level to an older age. He seems to be very economical with his movement. Players like him and Makelele probably run half as much as box to box players.
Btw, what do you think of Diego Lugano? Would he suite the Prem? Other than his screw up against Chile the other day, he's always looked top quality to me
The age doesn't bother me, but it is against the club's transfer policy to get a player of his age and especially for the amount Zenit would be asking for
As for Lugano, well I'm a bit of a newbie trying to identify which foreign players have the right qualities to suite the premiership but I can tell you that Lugano is a very solid and physical defender that is particularly excellent in the air on both areas (has a great jump and will score goals) and is the captain of Uruguay. His main problem is that he can make reckless challenges and a few times screw up. But he is very well regarded and is one of the best defenders in latin america
