What we have to realise, (and we knock Man City fans for being delusuional), is that we have only qualified for the qualification stages of the champions league, for the first time in our history.

Yes, I would love Dzeko, we may still get him, but there will be alot of clubs (maybe not being able to afford him) wanting to gain his services. The same goes for suarez and Hunterlaar etc. Lets not get above our station yet.

I personally do not think that Carlton Cole is good enough for us, now. Maybe Harry does, or maybe this ITK is bollocks. But I do feel that it if this is true, and he joined, he will be on to a loser from day one, because already we have written the guy off.

Can't see this happening. He's a decent Premiership player but no improvement on what we have already. Plus the last time we tried to sign him, he turned up drunk to the medical!

If we still haven't signed a striker by late August, he'd be a good alternative. But with the summer ahead of us and so many great strikers on the market, this would be a step backward.

I cant see that happening because even if pav and keane are sold, one replacement will be a top big striker and the other in a similar mould to either Defoe or Keane. Carlton Cole does not fit the description of either.

What are you going on about? Spurs have signed quality players over the years and we have not even had a sniff of the top competition before. Your the doom and gloom that hangs around like a bad bad smell!

He's not a bad player - 10 goals in 25 games - but I hope this isn't true. In my opinion he's no better than what we have and we should be trying to sign players who were out of our reach before we finished 4th.

No thanks, would prefer we look elsewhere as his finishing can be a bit erractic and his injury problems recently are cause for concern.

He might be a step up on an ageing Keane that cant deal with being on the bench and Gudjohnsen, in terms of what we'd get for selling Keane, the price of getting in Gud/Cole and the sell-on-value of Cole, in addition to him prob being more relaxed with a 4th striker role. Worse player, better investment - and possibly better as a squad player..

BUT, while I see it from a financial squad-balance perspective, sort of, it doesnt really make sense to me and I find Cole a poor man's Bent - at best! I would like us to keep/buy Gudjohnsen and the inevitable sell Pav, buy super striker combo. Defoe/Crouch not going anywhere, so Defoe/Crouch/Gudjohnsen/Super striker for me.
