Don't argue with Van Gaal's comments - the only parameter that we are 'bigger' is our current status. Historical, financial, fan base, global reach, wages, transfers etc etc Utd are a bigger team.

However, we are on the up, they are on the down, and I can see them really slipping down the pecking order if they are not clever with their next managerial appointment. Leeds used to be a bigger club, Forest were for a few years, it can only take a decade or so to slip from the top into the middle of the pack, even with the different financial environment of modern day football

He also said they will always be bigger, which I thought was uncalled for as well as bollocks. They could be, but who knows in 10, 20, 50 years time what can happen in football.
