Seeing as the hissyfits ended when we scored our first goal yesterday I thought you'd like another reason to go purple in the face, shake uncontrollably and go on the rampage kicking the vadge off of old ladies and domestic pets:p

Louis van Gaal says he does not regret turning down Tottenham in the summer of 2014, saying Manchester United "are a bigger club".

United lie 12 points adrift of second-placed Spurs after suffering a 3-0 defeat at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

"The challenge was bigger for me at Manchester United and shall always be bigger," said Van Gaal, whose side are fifth.

"I'm sorry for Tottenham but Manchester United is a bigger club."

Despite United's troubles this season, Van Gaal, who held talks with Spurs about becoming manager, believes United are "still ahead" of the London club.

He also turned on the reporter who had asked him whether he had regretted choosing United over Spurs.

"It is a little bit pathetic you asked that," the 64-year-old Dutchman said. "It's easy to ask that but, ok, you enjoy yourself."

After Van Gaal signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford, Tottenham appointed former Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino as boss.

I've heard several times that Levy met him and thought he was crazy.

United are the biggest club in the land, a commercial behemoth... but the eleven players they put out on the pitch and the manager guiding them are certainly not better than Spurs. As indicated by the league table in recent years and the ease with which Spurs demolished them in 6 minutes yesterday.

He's totally right, no need to feel sorry for Tottenham though dumpling, we're very happy with how things turned out

Good news for us that football is played on a pitch and not a balance sheet or history book.

Bullet dodged with him I think.
It most certainly is.

And there was me, gagging for us to get him. What a plum.

Just goes to show doesn't it? I'm as clueless about football as everyone else on SC. And that comes as quite a shock.

To you lot :p

Bigger yes of course. That is past success though- no reason why we should not be more successful than them in the future- or at least aim to be.

He's probably right. But I don't really care, this season has been ace.

We just pissed on Utd. We were expected to win. We did win. Comfortably. And got talked about afterwards as if we were always going to win. Which we did. Comfortably.

You can stick your club up your rectum Louis.

I was in the same boat to be honest, thought he was the man for it. But now look at him, like a slightly more senile Mourinho edging closer to a full break down...poor chap.

He's right, of course they're a bigger club, but ultimately you're only as good as your last couple of seasons.

Liverpool were brilliant in the 1980s as they keep reminding everyone... United risk going down the same path.

I think the few people who were still taking LVG seriously stopped doing so yesterday when he took Rashford off, put Martial on the wing and Ashley Young up front.

I genuinely think if we'd hired him and United had gone with Poch the teams would be in the opposite positions now.

That's how well Poch has done and how useless LVG has been at United.

He's right...United are a bigger team than Tottenham. Over the last 5 years they've averaged a net spend of over 70m more than Spurs PER SEASON. They can attract any player they want. They are one of, if not the biggest, sporting franchises in the world.

So what does that say about you LVG considering you are currently sitting 12 points behind us having come off a 3-0 hiding, considering your own fans hate the brand of football you play, and considering there's a good chance your club is about to miss out on the Champions League in a season where you have won precisely fuck all?

If I were you LVG I'd keep very quiet about how big a club United are, because all it does is show just how shit you've been to make them into a mediocre club battling with the likes of West Ham and Southampton rather than the big boys of.....ummmm....well us.
